THE LAUGH:

THE LIFT:

A good friend sent me this and I wanted to share it with you :-}}

This is so neat. I had never heard this before. This is beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.

1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, nurses, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all, which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Thanks for the recipes. Just this week I made the switch to almond milk from my Stonyfield yogurt because of its calcium content. I am going to check on those socks for men. They might help my DH.
I have seen the five point prayer and I like it. Thanks for sharing it.
Until tomorrow, have a great day!

I really liked the five-finger prayer. Last night and today my thumb is really getting a work-out as I pray for those closest to me. Lots of stuff going on, and my mind is racing.

But God stills me.

My Mother in Law has to use diabetic socks. I like them because they don't bind my legs at night.

Don't put me in for the drawing though, I have some already.

Hi Sandie....The smoothies sound good.

What is the purpose of the socks? Do they help with swelling? If yes, put my name into the hat, okay? Thanks.

Take care and have a good Friday! Susan

I have lymphoma and can't even fit into my Crocs now, my feet are so huge and swollen. So I wear the diabetic socks!! I would love to try these, if you think they would fit really big and swollen feet and legs. You are very generous, giveaways are always so much fun!!!

I am interested in the socks and i would not mind trying the undies...they would come in handy when laughing at your jokes :) I keep thinking I am going to make smoothie's and never get around to it. I have heard the five finger prayer but forgot how it went...thanks for the reminder.

Neat prayer ---using your fingers.... Love it.

The funny is GREAT...

Both panties and socks looks great --but don't add me to your list.

Love your Protein Shakes. Hubby drinks one of those almost everyday since he was low on protein. He also puts a dash of honey in his in addition to the cinnamon.

Hugs,
Betsy

I like the idea of the Wearever's. If we live long enough we will need the mental support, that is for sure.

Loved the laugh!!
Always, a great read. Thanks...

I have never heard of the five finger prayer reminder, but it's wonderful. A way to not leave anyone out. Thank you for passing it on.
I would love to win the socks though I wasn't sure what diabetic socks are. I DO love sockies!

Just copied the smoothie recipes. I love them and for most of the summer, they are my dinner. Haven't tried whey but will give it a whirl.
I had the dreaded Buster Brown hair cut in the 7th grade. No one should do that to their kid :)
No need to put me in the drawing. Hope someone who can use them gets them.
The undies might be a great idea during allergy season with violent sneezing. Will check them out. Thanks.

The five finger prayer guide is wonderful. I will be sharing that.
I will be very careful not to mention that I got a kick out of the one used to pray for our leaders. I am not proud of that, but I did think that it was kind of funny. (Hangs my head in shame)

I am not diabetic so I should leave the socks for those who are. I do like the new invention of those reusable pants. I am positive that a lot of women will be appreciating them.

Ah-choo.... me as well, more often than I like.
