Fun Friday with a little help from my friends...

“Every now and again take a good look at something not made with hands- a mountain, a star, the turn of a stream. There will come to you wisdom and patience and solace and, above all, the assurance that you are not alone in the world.”

God is there...

I think this was one of my favorites!

Mom's Day Out movie....Christian and one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.  Go see it.

Thank you Lee.

My 40 year anniversary was on Mother's Day.

THE LAUGH:

Is this a bird?  Thanks Lee.

THE LIFT:

Expect to have hope rekindled. Expect your prayers to be answered in wondrous ways. The dry seasons do not last. The spring rains will come.”

  1. Happy Anniversary!! And Sandie, I loved the dog cartoons best of all. I think our son's dog is so happy and relaxed at our home because she had to keep out of the way of little kids when she was home. :-)

  4. Good morning, sweet friend! Happy belated anniversary to you! :-) I've seen the story about the dog nap before, but it is so sweet to be reminded again. :-)
Thinking about the dog in curlers...
When I worked at Sears, there was a lady that came into the store one day wearing her pajamas and a robe, house slippers, and an eye mask on top of her head. No joke!
Have been praying for you and thinking about you. Hope you have a nice weekend. hugs♥

  12. Guess which one I liked the best? Batman with Catwoman. Does that surprise you? I know my kids will enjoy that one too.

  13. Love that dog story. My friend Kim had a dog wander into her yard with a plastic dish in his mouth. He stopped in front of her and laid it down. She put some water in it and called the number on the tag. The neighbor came and got him - he was one of three dogs and was probably feeling overlooked.

And I was in an antique shop in Madison, Georgia where there is a black shop cat. The owner told me he kept coming to her house and she would take him home - about two miles away. He apparently chose her to be his new home - his had three children, a couple of dogs and I think there was a crying baby, too. She finally offered to keep him for good. :)

  19. Congrats on your anniversary! Wow, what a blessed achievement! Hope you did something really special to celebrate.

This was a fun Friday indeed. I think I loved the story about the dog coming over for a nap the best. So cute.

And, might I just add, my family owns a condo at the "Cuckoo Like Cocoa Nuts" complex. They cater to those who are crazy as loons, but love each other deeply. C'mon over!

    GOD BLESS!

  21. Awwwwww, Sandie...

How could that anniversary have slipped by me? CONGRATULATIONS.

It is a commendable thing to have made it through 40 years of marriage. A lot of young people today don't bother to work out the problems----divorce is rampant.

I hope you and your honey have many more years of marriage...the longer it is, the deeper it becomes.

Take care and God bless you both and all your family, Sandie. Susan

p.s. Loved the one about reserving a family suite in the mental institution. ha hahhahaha Funny.

  38. I hope you had a wonderful 40th Anniversary, Sandie....quite the milestone.

You brought back memories of when my now late in-laws celebrated theirs. My father-in-law and I headed off to the nearest regional town, Gympie (my ex and I were living at the Sunshine Coast at the time) to visit jewellers to buy a ruby as a gift for my mother-in-law for their 40th Anniversary.

Father and I made up some elaborate story of where we were off to, because it wasn't a regular thing that he and I did...go off shopping together.

Anyway, we succeeded in our subterfuge.

As we were wandering up Gympie's main street TV news cameras were everywhere! I grabbed Father and we hid in a store until they'd disappeared. That's all we needed...to have been caught on camera to appear on the evening news. It might have been had to explain! lol

  39. I loved all of them as always..but the napping dog story was the best. Have had seven children, 13 and 14 months apart, and I often wondered where our dog, Susie, was in the afternoon..thought she was meeting the children on their way home from school..but now I wonder if she was somewhere sneaking in a nap at some quiet home! Darned dog! I should have thought of that!! :)

  44. Happy belated anniversary to you and your husband. I wonder if any of the couples marrying now will make it that far. I loved the mental hospital family suite -- we have said that for years! And I loved the dog napping, oh and the catwoman. Actually, I loved them all as always. Praying for you and thinking of you daily. Is June 11th your surgery? Keep thinking positive. This is going to be over before you know it.

  45. Thank you so much for this lovely post, a post I needed right now. The dog needing a nap was adorable and putting away the phone a real good idea. It just occurred to me how very difficult it must be to be a mom of teenagers and their phones these days. Hope you are doing OK and taking good care of you. Hugs!
