We are getting near Thanksgiving time.
I think the holidays are magical - do you?
Do you have your plans made up?
Will you go out or have the family over?
Do you have a big family or a small family?
What are you going to eat?
Now I have a small family.
My mother and brother and his family lived here in Georgia, but they are not with me anymore.
My mother and brother and his family lived here in Georgia, but they are not with me anymore.
My brother's family - well they have plans of their own with their family.
My son and his family live in Ohio and won't be home for the holidays.
That leaves the four of us and Disco this year.
The rest of extended family is mainly in Indiana and California.
We've had to make some traditions here.
We try to have a small turkey dinner.
Go to a movie.
Their is a Christian movie coming out this weekend about Saving Christmas (Kurt Cameron's) - we'll probably go see that.
Their is a Christian movie coming out this weekend about Saving Christmas (Kurt Cameron's) - we'll probably go see that.
Then go to see the lights. We have a lot of places that put on great light shows.
We have a good time.
Sometimes small is relaxing.
What are your traditions?
Who wants to dance with me?
That is a very true statement.
That is true for me too!
And I want this to be!
Good fix for depression.
I am waiting for my kids to say that to me.
They are close.
They are close.
Some very interesting information.
This is not Disco but it looks like him and acts like him! lol
The simplest way to slice a bunch of cherry tomatoes is to sandwich them between two plastic lids and run a long knife through all of them at once!

Thanks Lisa
Thank you Monica

Thanks, Sandie, for the fun this Friday morning. Love that chicken cartoon! And so true that no matter our past, Jesus gives us hope and a future. I'm such a dog lover that I actually saw the puppies first. How cute! Our traditions are celebrating Advent with friends and having New England clam chowder with family on Christmas Eve. Have a wonderful day, Friend.
Hi Sandie.....I love the kitty cat trying to sing...that is me! I used to sing solos and at weddings and you know what? I can not sing a note now!!!! Bad girl...I need to practice!!! and the fried chicken is so cute. I love the roses and the water that you have between the funnies! Another Friday that has made me laugh.
Thanksgiving at our son's and daughter-in-law's home about 25 minutes away. (they have the new baby - Cayden -13 weeks old) and my our daughter and family will be there, too. Lots of food and laughter. Actually, your day sounds like a good time. I am so thankful that your daughter and grandson are with you and your husband.
Thank you again.
I think i will print NCD in great big letters and hang in my kitchen.. NO CAN DO is how i feel about cooking, cleaning, dusting HOUSEWORK..
just Bob and I for all holidays and we eat out, this will be our 4th year of eating out... the down side is no leftovers for the week.
SMILE! Love this entry and that does look like Disco.
I love cherry tomatoes sliced, thanks for the tip. My sometimes snack at night.
We will have a small Thanksgiving, Sherry and i we will find a Dennys or the like.
I am thankful we are together and the kids are making their own way.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving no matter how many attend, you made smile, you always do!
I liked the cat singing, I can relate. I like you Thanksgiving traditions Sandy. We did the same when we lived far from family. This year we are celebrating with my family the Sunday before Thanksgiving and then with hubby's brother and his wife on Thanksgiving.

For the first time in many, many years we are not cooking for our family. We've enjoyed it, but it wears us out. We've spent the last two years telling the family that we need help. We got NO help. So last Christmas we told them we weren't cooking the holiday meals anymore.
Hubby and I are going to have a baked chicken, cheesy potatoes and veggies for dinner. No dessert. Just the two of us and Little Bit.
The video about the Halloween candy was disturbing. Loved the kids that thought is was okay, but the little brats? Not funny and you know what kind of adults they are going to be.
Have a fabulous day and weekend honey. Scritches to Disco. ♥♥♥
We usually go over to my son's in-laws, there will be about twelve or so, mostly babies. I hope you have the best thanksgiving EVER, Sandie!
Fun post today, Sandie. We will go to my daughters for Christmas. That way the kids can have Santa at their home and not have to go back and forth.
Thanksgiving is here this year and I will have a houseful-which I love. What I DON'T LOVE is the clean up. lol
Hope you have a great weekend- xo Diana
ps . I saw chicken on the grill in that one shot, too!
Totally love the poster, "You have to love me for who I am...." So very true. In fact, I loved it so much I pinned it on Pinterest and posted it on FB.
Those puppies are adorable and yes, they do look like fried chicken at just a glance.
Sandie, I do love these Fridays. Thank you for being so consistent in sharing a smile, a laugh. As I've said to you before, laughter is so much needed in this sad and scary world!
This year we are having Thanksgiving with my son and his wife, my other son, my mom, and a few family friends. Then later on, we're meeting up with my sister's family for dessert. My new daughter-in-law is a baker, so we get some really great homemade treats now!
And yes, I totally saw fried chicken. Maybe it's because I haven't had breakfast yet!!
XO
Oh my! I saw fried chicken first, too! haha! Have a fabulous weekend! Oh...and our Thanksgiving is very relaxed, just the two of us. We make a grand meal though and watch a little Cowboy football. And we give thanks for all of our blessings! Sweet hugs, Diane
they do look like fried chicken,Hugs friend
I love when Jimmy Kimmel does that at Halloween. Every year there's at least one child that is so nice about it while the rest pitch fits.
We haven't made plans for Thanksgiving. I don't mind cooking as much as I mind cleaning and getting the house ready. We've been throwing some ideas around but haven't decided. We might go out but then I miss the leftovers. I will definitely NOT be going shopping on Thanksgiving. I hate the way retailers are turning Thanksgiving Day into a big shopping event. They're taking the thanks out of Thanksgiving just like Christ out of Christmas. I couldn't believe the mall last week. It was decorated for Christmas! Didn't we just have Halloween??? OK...I'll get off my soapbox. :)
I'm beginning to wish I could remain living the in the past because so often the future doesn't appear to be too inviting! :)
Thanks for the smiles, Sandie. :)
Ok have to say those KFD's (Kentucky Fried Dogs) look so nice but not so yummy.......lol
Also did you know that most chickens cross the road in order to get away from the man with the axe, the like their heads on their bodies......
I love the holidays as my family gathers for of a day of fun and food. All but the two that live out of state are usually present. I don't have them here at my house any more because there are so many of us now that my house is too small so we travel and rotate the holidays between the 5 that live in Ohio now.
Hi Dearest Girl!
NCD-oh how I love this, made me laugh so very much!
Your traditions are so nice, you know I came from a small family and it was sweet, simple and full of lots of love.
I will be preparing Thanksgiving for all of the children and their families this year. I think this may be the last time for awhile that we will all be together, Since Amanda is moving off and the baby of the family doesn't live here either. So, I really want to make it very special. I even bought some new beautiful white plates just for the occasion!
Your are a delight, my dear!
xoxoxo-
Jemma
That's brilliant with the tomatoes.
Your Thanksgiving sounds nice and low key. My sort of holiday :-)
I like the tomato slicing idea. Good one. Love the last quote and it reminded me of this one I found recently.
"Life is lived forward, but understood backward. It is not until we are down the road and we stand on the mountain looking back through the valley that we can appreciate the terrain God has allowed us to scale.”

Love to you
Great to call in and say HI.

Wish we 'ad Thanksgiving, we only get Christmas. One turkey. X
Oh yea, I'm dancing!!! Have a great weekend:@)
We have our plans for Thanksgiving. We are doing a meal here on the 23rd with the kids and then we are going to Texas. I get to have two celebrations. I love the chicken crossing the road and Kermit is the best! Lots of funny here today. Love the fried chicken doggies. Debby
We love, love. love the photos!
Happy weekend!

Cracked up about the chickens crossing the road without a motive.
Over here, my family don't really celebrate Thanksgiving. There are only 3 of us. Guess will be just like any other day
Hi Sandie, I too love the holidays.. Thanksgiving is always a favorite -which gets caught between Halloween and Christmas.... We will probably have our Thanksgiving Dinner here at home. I always buy a turkey breast and we put the trimmings with it... We will see one of my sons on the Wed. before Thanksgiving. And we'll probably see G's daughter and hubby sometime that week.
I saw Kirk Cameron on Fox's Outnumbered today.. Such a wonderful Christian man... Has 6 kids... Wooooo...
I laughed at the one when our kids beg us not to allow their kids to be worse than they were.... FUNNY.
Neat idea about Cherry Tomatoes...
Hugs,
Betsy
LOVE love LOVE this quote!
"Joy is the serious business of Heaven."
C.S. Lewis
Oh Sandie, that was great. I loved the NCD---No Can Do.
And the kids whose parents ate their candy----oh my goodness.
I saw fried chicken! Go figure.
This year at Thanksgiving I'm passing the torch. My daughter is cooking the turkey and serving it at her house! Woo hoo
We just eat that day. ha ha ha Hugs. Susan
I like the chicken crossing the road one and all the rest too. My oldest daughter has had Thanksgiving the last few years. I became kind of a scrooge when my husband died when I was 50. Both daughters lived out of state and out of country so I did a lot of hanging out with other widows.
Hi sandie
It sounds like good plan to me, to relax is the way to be. We don't celebrate thanksgiving here.
I will be in your country from Sunday and during next week. Won't stay over thanksgiving though which is a pity.
Enjoy your weekend :)
Hi Sandie - we don't do Thanksgiving here in the UK ..but there are Thanksgiving celebratory lunches out there and I'm sure people with American relatives will find a way to celebrate.
Love the fact your skin replaces itself every 35 days and liver every month or so .. I hadn't realised that .. then the cartoons - by the time I've stretched my mouth laughing .. it needs replacing!
Enjoy what ever celebrations you get to do as a family ... sounds like you've got the balance right ... cheers Hilary
I think small is nice, and I think big is nice. We've had both. :)
This year we'll have medium. ;)
I did find out a couple of days ago that my oldest, his wife and sweet baby girl are going to be here for Christmas. Now if I can get the second oldest home (he only gets one day a week off work) we'll all be together. :)
Happy Thanksgiving to you!!
I will be alone here in S. Florida for Thanksgiving but I will be in New England with my children for Xmas!
Good Morning Sandie!!
Playing catch up!! Seems we've been gone every weekend and am able to visit this morning!!
I love Thanksgiving and having all the family here!! It's a wonderful time for eating and talking and visiting and catching up!! But this year - like you - family is scattered :-//
It's our year to go up to visit Danny's sister in Cleveland and her kids in Columbus. (of course Dan will go to THE game)
My Eldest daughter will go to Alab. with her husband's family, other daughter will be with her boyfriend's family and my sister will be in Fla. with my Mom.
I know I have to share with Danny and his family and my girl's extended family!! But it's difficult sometimes being an adult!!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with YOUR family!!

Loved the video...easy to see which kids are spoiled rotten and which ones are not! I always look forward to your Friday laughs!!
I like your little fairy there at the end. Thank for the Friday cheer and hope you will have a nice weekend with not too terrible weather......
NCD I like that :)
It'll just be me, Wade and my daughter here for Thanksgiving. I would actually prefer to go out to eat this year but my daughter said she'll do all the work
Nice Friday post, Sandie. I hope your day was great!! Best was the curse of hoping her kids would be like her.
Will you go out or have the family over? Most of our family goes to their step-sister's family because the Mom comes there. So we have over the ones who stay in town and Karen (not kin to the others' mom) and her family. This year Karen is having us and her in-laws and maybe the brothers and sisters who don't go to see the other mom.
One year Mrs. Jim and I went to Luby's. It was fine. We invited a grand-daughter (the one who got married a few weeks ago) and her boyfriend to eat with us as they didn't go out of town.
..
Dear Sandie, Thanksgiving has gotten much smaller here too. It will be the three of us. I wish you lived closer you are welcome over.
I love you sayings they are soooo true.
I loved the bunch of doggies. They do look a bit like fried chicken!
Have a beautiful Sunday and I hope all is well.
You are in my prayers always. Catherine xo
Oh, but those pups look exactly like a pile of yummy chicken tenders!
Our Thanksgiving is looking like a subdued affair ... hubby has hip replacement surgery in the coming days. The bight side? NO turkey! :)))
Thanks for all the laughs. That video is something else. I wonder if the future personalities of those kids show through the videos.
Take care of yourself. God Bless you.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, SANDIE!
Hi Sandie, sweet dear friend,
I love today's post, especially
the video with children and candies. It's really too funny...
Mom told her kids that she and dad
ate all of their Halloween's candies.
I roared out in laughter. I laughed my head off when I saw the reaction of the children. They just looked so very upset...
The children went into a hysterical over reaction, just too much...
About us, we do not celebrate Thanksgiving overseas. We won't eat turkey either. We make plans to buy a new home somewhere around here in the countryside, if God allows. We don't have family nearby. My daughter, grandchildren, family, friends are in New York. I miss them all so much!
I wish I were over there...
We have been through terrible and dreadful ordeals lately.
My hubby recently RETIRED. He spends most of his time at home watching whatever I do. He demands me to spend time, pay attention, and talk to him. I guess, I have lost my privacy...
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, SANDIE, FAMILY, BELOVED ONES!
HAVE A BLESSED TIME WITH THOSE YOU LOVE! I REALLY LOVE TO SEE YOU HERE.
BIG HUGS,
STARRY.
We will cook here...enjoying those that come by for dinner...seven so far...enough for our small place...:)JP
Yep!! Fried Chicken!!!Hahaaaa
(((HUG)))
Hello, I saw your comment over at Lady Jane's and I just had to come over and see who 'Chatty Crone' was...AND...I'm glad I did! Your Thksgvg plans sound great to me and I hope y'all enjoy every minute of it. Enjoyed my visit and will see you again.
Thanks for the giggles-and the Kohls coupon. Love the NCD! There are only 3 of us for Thanksgiving and we like the quiet and serenity. Happy Thanksgiving- enjoy it!
We can't leave a comment on your new post.
there is no COMMENT word

We have a huge family! This year we will all gather at my nephew's home and there will probably be between 50 and 80 people.....yes, we insure a good crowd for any event.
I love your tradition! How freeing to be able to eat, see a movie and look at lights! I actually threatened to go on a cruise this year since mama is gone.
I hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful!!! I know you, like me, are looking for 2015 to be a kinder, gentler year!
I do enjoy Thanksgiving - I'll go down to my sister's farm in Florida and the older sis and her husband are coming, too. Should be nice.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Sounds like you are going to have a nice Thanksgiving. My son and his family will be here and we are eating dinner with my best friend Sue. We have had Thanksgiving with her for years....she loves to cook and we love to est,:) I admit at first glance I thought the puppies was chicken LOL
