Catch Up Time

THIS IS WHAT I WILL BE DOING THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON.

What I did last weekend -
Our Annual Craft Fair at our church.
We have 45 vendors from the area come in
to sell their goods.
It is our biggest fund raiser.
They pay $50 for the booth and that is what we make.

The Methodist Women's Group - donate the money
we make within the year - only to women and children.

We even have our cafeteria going and that makes quite a bit as well.
This is a BIG Undertaking.

The night before the vendors set up we have to go tape up the floor in 8 x 10 places.
Next night the vendors come in and find their space and set up.

On Friday and Saturday we try to be runners for the vendors and keep them happy.
Then we clean and close up and ready the church for Sunday.

Then we collapse.

NO POST WOULD BE COMPLETE WITH DISCO'S CORNER.
My husband is Disco's man!!!

Some  things to think about:

Thank you Sandra at Mad Snapper

Last but not least -
HUMOR!

I love craft sales and am hoping to see a lot of them between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Years ago I was one of those vendors setting up and selling my handprinted items. It's a lot of work and a lot of fun! Your disco looks so incredibly happy sitting there with his man! Hope you have a Happy Monday!

About the trees is so true, for me one of the most obvious evidences for God's existence. Wonderful church event!☺

I can see this is a huge undertaking to get this up and running. a great idea for helping others and the vendors also...

love seeing all the vendors for your shop. i used to be on the craft show circuit years ago, so i know how much hard work goes into it. disco is too cute for words.

Oh my! That is quite an undertaking! I bet there are lots of neat things to purchase. And yes, sometimes the bakery/food is the biggest money maker at any event!

I really enjoyed the comparison of the tree to lungs. I have never seen that before. I'm often amazed by the Creator's handiwork. I saw a Bird of Paradise flower for the first time last year and found it to be astounding! Really looks like a bird! Have a great week!

I would have loved to go to the craft fair. So fun.

I linked you to Awww Mondays because of that cute dog.

Have a fabulous day and week, Sandie. ♥

I have never seen your husband before! What a treat, and the picture of him and Disco is so adorable!! I would have loved to be at the craft fair! I already see so many things that I want and would have bought! I'm thinking there may be quite a few absences from church the next day, though. Did you buy anything, and what is it? To answer your question about the murals...they do not paint over them. They find different buildings and start fresh.

LOL with the dog and there's some truth in that, LOL. What a cool craft fair!! I would have fun looking at all the creativity of people, but it does sound like hard work for you all. A labor of love for sure! I too am amazed at how God created us. So intricately!!

And a cafeteria, too? Oh Sandie, your church must be huge! I adore craft fairs; in fact, even if I can't attend in person, I prefer to patronize folks who sell their creations on Etsy.
LOVE the picture of Disco and 'his' man!

I printed out my list last week. I also sent one to my dad. I also sent a printout from Lifetime. We can't possibly watch all of them because Liftime has movies Sat/Sun too but they also have one each Friday! How awesome, I haven't been to a craft fair in years. Cute picture of Disco and you man!!! I love that meme on our lungs and the trees.

What a great fundraiser! I'm sure it's a lot of work, but what a great cause.
Happy TV time!

Your craft fair sounds like so much fun. Wish I lived close.

I just downloaded the Hallmark App again so I can keep up when the new movies are on. Can't wait for it to start.

Great post …
I always enjoy craft fayres and this time of year there are many which I do my best to support because most are fund-raising for a good cause.

Love the photograph of Disco and your husband.

Enjoy the remainder of Monday and have a great week ahead.

All the best Jan

Isn't that just so amazing how the heart vessels and the tree branches look so similar? Like everything is made from the same molds...or something.

That event is a HUGE undertaking and I am sure you were all exhausted!! What a great fundraiser for your church and the groups that benefit. Bless you all!

Boy...been there and done that for a gazillion years too.
One definitely collapses after it.
Glad you made a ton of money. I love to browse these types of fairs, so many goodies.
Lots of hard work.
Fun blog too.

Hi Sandi,

I saw your blog on Becky's sidebar, so I wanted to stop by and say hello. I have been on a long blog break, not reading or writing. But am now back to both!!

I love Hallmark Christmas movies! And Christmas bazaars. It is getting to be that season!!

Blessings to you,
Patti

Oh, the Hallmark shows are the best! I'll be watching them too, Sandie. The craft fair at your church sounds wonderful. Did you buy any goodies for yourself? aaahhh, Disco looks so happy in your husband's arms. I've seen this picture before, "it's all about which way you look," and I love it! I've never seen it in motion like that though, so cool. Hahaha, the doggy and shop online picture made me chuckle. I'll have to send that to Nel, as she loves dogs.

Delightful post, Sandie, and have a happy October week.

Hey Sandie...this and your previous post (I'm slow off the mark these past couple of days...tied up a bit doing other things) are great!

Now that I've unraveled the knots, I've found some time to catch up on the blogs of others. :)

Take good care.

Have a great weekend.

Those bazaars are great, great for everyone. Nobody gets rich but all end up satisfied, most anyway. Mrs. Jim headed up about three at our former church. She also one time bought a huge painting, nice but mass produced in China by nimble fingered ladies I am sure. We have a few tales about it since then. One happy one was when our artist friend touched up problem areas on it.
Disco knows he's loved and makes good use out of his position. The password named dog cartoon was cute all the way. And Sandra, I don't think negative but I always like having a Plan B, C too if I/we can make it. As an Aerospace Engineer on the Apollo and Skylab projects that was a part of my job, finding work-around solutions for lots of problems that never matured.
Get rested up for addressing cards, Sandie. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. We had KP for a stay over last night and have been watching football this afternoon, Mrs. Jim pulls for LSU and I do for U of Houston and U of Nebraska. Tonight is World Series again, both pull for our Houston Texans.

This is fab all your venters. I have to move from my apt in two weeks I live in with my daughter for awhile. We have all you have in our Apt for seniors. I was the coffee and tea lady and selling all the sandwiches. I loved to be participate. Now I am at the hospitial atleast 6 days a week to my darling Sid. Plus looking for permant dwelling homes for later on. He is in Lindsay and they say it may take 6 years to move him to the Long term care. It was on the news last night telling all the people the amount we all have to pay. So I am on the computer back doing my art. I need to take time for me out once a week to learn to be not so stressed out. I love your blog. Son is picking me up to see Sid today. We have over a hour drive there and back. Thank you for coment on my page sweetie. All your pictures are great and your hubby and your Disco.

Oh, WoW!! I love Art & Crafts, and Craft Fairs with many vendors. Your post is so interesting, my friend. So you keep busy doing what you love best, to help others in your Church. Artisans handicrafts are one of my favourite items to buy, if I ever get the chance to come across some of them. I got lots of handicrafts items in our home. Some of them are mine. I used to paint on fine fabrics, plus on canvas. My darling has showed me his pencil portraits done when he was a young fellow. They are incredibly awesome. I did not know he could make pencil drawings, like faces, and paint whole persons on canvas. He have been diving in his office lately, and found many of his artwork from the past. Great Memories! Needless to say, Disco and your hubby look so happy together. God Bless!

I bet that's a lot of hard work! But fun too.

That meme with the blowing hair is so true. I need to remember that when I'm feeling sorry for myself about things.

Here to say howdy. I like the memes, especially the one with the wind blowing in the girls' faces. It really is all about how you look at something!
