WHAT IS REALITY?

Chatty thinking...
Do you ever wonder if what we see and think - is reality and life - is really something like this?

Disco's Corner-
Injured...

One night my daughter took Disco out to go to the bathroom - he was fine going out and then he comes back in limping and yelping in pain.
We don't know what happened, so we took him to the ER.  $$$$$
They really couldn't find anything.
They gave him a shot for pain which left him drooling with his tongue out.
Then  they wrapped his leg up.  ???
Here are the two boys recouping together.

The next day we went to the regular vet - and he was fine!!!
Couldn't find a thing wrong with him.
Next time we won't bring him in so fast to the emergency room.
Live and learn.
Poor baby.
That blanket in the back, was my grandson's from 20 years ago - but Disco loves it.
He looks so sad.

4th of July - some fireworks are being canceled.
HAPPY 4th of July to you all!!!

JUST FOR FUN-

Anyone want to guess what this is?

A zebra singing Happy Birthday???
Sherry & I got a kick out of the reality cartoon, what a hoot.
And yep I have wondered a lot about truth and reality. HAHAHAHA
I have wished a million times as a kid that I could really talk to my dog. Now I say the same about the feral cat, I wish she could tell me what happened to her!
Love from here liked the graphics.

Poor Disco but good for you taking him to get checked out. Happy he is doing better. The picture, at first I was gonna say "Donkey" until I saw the stripes. I think that Zebra is needing a kiss:) I have never been a huge fan of fireworks, people around my house will still shoot them well past my bedtime! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!

That is a great one with the ants looking at the tennis ball thinking it was the sunrise. Some things aren't what they seem to be these days. The wise need to keep praying and keep reading everything they can. Just saying.

Poor Disco! What a traumatic experience for you all! Emergency vets are very expensive indeed. And I'm not sure the care they give. We took Koda to several over his life time and then to the regular vet the next day and it was always a different diagnosis from the vet who knew him.

Happy 4th to you too! Hard to imagine it is coming up in less than 2 weeks!

Cute Zebra's teeth!

Poor Disco. I hope he feels better soon. Funny how nothings wrong, but something was wrong for Disco.

I linked you to Awww Mondays. That bunch of pups celebrating that the 4th of July has been canceled made me say Awww.

Have a fabulous day, honey. ♥

Poor Disco and poor your empty pockets too. Vets do cost a lot, but we take care of them because they are part of the family. Glad he seems ok now. Since so many public fireworks have been cancelled around here people are shooting off lots at their homes. Our neighborhood has been noisy every night for a week now and we still have a way to the 4th of July. I think so many of our days lately have seemed unreal, but truth they are the new reality.

It is always a hard call, take to the ER or not - I'm just glad Disco is okay.

Aww Disco does look so sad in that picture. So glad he is okay!

Looks like a zebra trying to get a treat through a fence! Poor Disco, and poor pocketbook after a visit to the ERVet. Glad he is doing okay, sweet baby. As for the sunset picture... truth is only what each person believes it to be...

Have a good week, Sandie! Love & hugs!

Love that perspective!
Poor Disco. Gosh, because of the virus we didn't take Skye to get her leg looked at for about a month. It's arthritis. She has a brace she wears. Let me tell you that many, many years ago we ran to the emergency vet with our Westie thinking she was bleeding. It was fleas. When they get wet it looks like blood on a white dog. We never had fleas on a dog before!

Poor Disco! Yours is the second post I've seen today where a family pet had to be rushed to the ER. I'd have been so afraid he had been bitten by a snake. Yep, I'm a nervous WRECK when it comes to our fur babies.

I, too, am happy when big fireworks celebrations are canceled. The costs to stage a city celebration are absurd, plus I'm always worried about animals freaking out and running away. I'd like to see someone maybe produce an indoor exhibition with 365* screens and surround-sound, like Disney. No mosquitos and no sticky thighs. LOL!

Sandi said...

Glad Disco was Ok. Maybe he just stepped on something?

I do wonder about what we see. How do we know we are not just bugs staring at a tennis ball? 😂

Hi There, My reality right now is seeing our poor country go to hell-in-a-handbasket.... It's now not about Covid, but more about losing our history... Do you realize that there's probably not a word or phrase in the English language that 'someone' is not offended by..... What are we going to do????? Change everything?????? GADS.... Actually it is very sad. Sorry to get on my soap-box!!!!!

Pets are wonderful --but can be VERY expensive. Glad Disco is okay now.

Hugs,
Betsy

ZEBRA! I see his black and white stripes. ; ) So sorry Disco got injured. Sometimes it just takes a day or two to heal and get back to normal. That fireworks photo cracked me up. I'll have to send that one to Nel, as she has her dog Ozzie, and he's getting old. That is a treasured blanket of your grandson's. Did Disco rip it up? We've been hearing LOUD fireworks in my town already every night, and it sometimes bothers me. They should wait for the 4th. In Jess' town, they don't allow fireworks, and it really bums her out, but she lives near the ocean, so that makes up for it. I hope Disco feels better soon.

Happy 4th of July, Sandie, if I don't talk to you before.

I am glad that Disco is doing better. The 4th has started in my neighborhood with fireworks going off for the past week. It is so hard on animals.

I don’t know what is real anymore either.

You are so much FUN!! I'm so sorry about Disco!
One of Dean and Sherry's goats seemed to be having an emergency over the weekend. Its sides were heaving and it had a hard time breathing. Sherry sent her daughter to town to get Mylanta after calling the 'goat lady' to get her advice. By the time Crystal got back to the ranch - the goat was just fine!!

Boy, Disco does look incredibly sad! I don’t get the cancellation of fireworks. People can’t sit far apart outside? It’s dumb,

I liked the reality cartoon. So glad Disco is all right. Poor thing. One night Annie was outside and she was stung on the foot by a wasp on the ground. Maybe Disco just turned his leg wrong or something. Our city is planning the fireworks. :-(

CHERI said...

Well, that big open mouth is a zebra. I've never understood why people want to let their windows down when going through those safari/zoo places. I've seen too many FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS to know NOT to do that!!! So sorry about your fur baby...maybe he had a splinter or sandspur??? Vets (esp. after hours) can sure be $$$$$$$. And yes...these days I have no idea what I should believe...whether I see it, read it, hear it, whatever! And I'm plain sick of it. I think all these news media people are full of it!!!

Jim said...

Poor Disco. I think he needed more attention, just like a five 5-year old kid. Thanks for the Zebra info, I knew his colors but not the tongue.
I think our news media are doing a great job. The ones we tune in on. Two are very prejudiced and we tune the out. One is extremely liberal for us and the other on the wild far far right. We like the truth. I don't want to get political here and ruin your sooo very nice blog.
I hope you are all doing well over there, we are seeing you in the news. And yes, the COVID-19 has hold of Mrs. Jim's sister, Velma. She had a terrible stroke in February that left her tight side paralyzed while staying at the rehab center and had to be hospitalized again. And her husband talked a bit with her in getting to the hospital so when the hospital new she had the virus then now he is quaranteened for two weeks.
His profession is music ministry, directing choir, but he is ordained to preach, he was in Georgia preaching for a few years. Now they live in North Louisiana. She played church piano and they both sang.

I visit you this day, and I see my broken heart in the arms of Disco.
I can feel Disco is in pain. Something must be wrong with him, perhaps, his age. He looks sad, depressed with his paw all wrapped up with tape. Is he able to walk? I'm a kind of lady that could listen to one's soul, read what the eyes tell, listen to one's heart. If I were you, I would search more...
You should pay more attention to Disco, since he has entered into his old age. I love Disco, just as much as I love all animals. I'm an animal lover & advocate. Yes! It's truly dreadful what is happening in the U.S. and the whole world. The pandemia just killed whatever was worthwhile left on Earth. I have no idea what will happen in the future, what the future holds for the rest of us. I believe we have entered into the last days what the Bible writes in The Revelations, the last chapter of the Bible. It calls it, apocalyptic times. We have been doing quarantine for the last 4 months. We feel like prisoners inside our home. We don't know who long will put up with a hopeless future, a dark tunnel of no return. Sadly, I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopeless, I feel like a hermit, and at my age, it could be deadly. I pray for better days, a better health coming to us. I say healing prayers for Disco, for complete healings and a prompt recovery. I pray in Jesus' most Almighty & Holy Name. Amen.

HI! I've made some corrections to my previous comment. Things are pretty badly where we live at this point in time. We have been doing quarantine for the last 4 months. We feel like prisoners inside our home. We got no idea how long we'll be able to put up with a hopeless future, a dark tunnel of no return. Sadly, I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopeless, I feel like a hermit, and at my old age, it could be deadly. My companion (almost 80) isn't well at all. I'm so worried! He is the one who has been taken care of me for so long. If he dies, I'll die with him. I won't have any money left for food, payments of bills, and so on. My good neighbor, Pearl -from my old neighborhood, where I lived with my mother since birth, is losing her husband at the age of 76 -due to heart failure. The illness in his heart will kill Victor, Pearl's husband. Pearl is my age, 66. I know her for about 40 years -living in the building. It's so very sad to lose our husbands. I pray for better days in our old age, a better health coming to us. I say healing prayers for Disco, for complete healings and a prompt recovery. I pray in Jesus' most Almighty & Holy Name. Amen.

I'm glad Disco is doing so much better, but he does look so sad in the picture. Macy's has been doing fireworks, but not announcing it so people don't form crowds. I do enjoy the big fireworks but I haven't liked the crowds for a long time. I've seen them at the minor league baseball games, but those, too, are cancelled this year. It's going to be a different holiday this year, but will see what interesting things I can find this year.
