We are quickly losing our humanity along with our jobs. Discernment can not be programmed into a machine, so, that's a hard no from me. I much prefer to deal with people. 💙
If I had a choice, I too would rather deal with a real person, but the thing is we really don't get a choice anymore. Ai is here to stay for better or worse. We just have to deal with it the best we can.
All this AI will come crashing down someday soon. We did fine before AI, and the world was better for it.
It's difficult to avoid AI since it has crept up in our everyday life. We are getting more and more dependent on it. We didn't pay much attention and now it's taking over because of people's greed. More speed, more profits and it's diminishing us as humans. We need God to rescue us.
Hugs,
Julia
I like playing with the designer parts, and love self check out. I did don't know about the video after years of doing my own check out, I was the first one to start doing it years ago, when they just had the quick Check out, now I get upset if I have to wait on people to do it for me. I do often wonder what will happen if/when someone takes down the power grid,or it just goes down because it has to work so hard. with out power we are lost. no power no computers. just like cars took the place of horses there was good and bad in that too. when we used to order from Sears, the items had to be found in a book, the book had to be picked up from the store, it tooks days and weeks for the items to come.. and there were many less people back then.
the world is always evolving and has since the book of Genesis. people were evil and good and always will be.
As my son says...The Genie is out of the bottle. There's no putting him back in. AI is here to stay and getting more refined all the time.
Its hard to know what's real and what's not.
I love all the cute things Sandra (MadSnapper) does with AI, just not all the automated things that cause people to loose their jobs.
California minimum wage is $20.00 for places like McDonalds...the fight back is raised prices and everything is automated..no employees to speak of..sad situations...but just don't get me started on California and where my state is going!!

Hurrah for your birds!!! Now maybe you can try to snap them while they are busy eating. Some eat there, and some fly away to crack the seeds open. I think A.I. and computer things all depend on who is working them and how they are programmed. Yes, they sure can be both good and bad. and there are some things that should only be done by humans.
Yes, Sandra'a blogs are always fun and different. She has fun playing around with it.
I want absolutely nothing to do with AI. I have enough going on just with trying to write a blog. I don't think our country should be using it. I don't want to talk to a robot. Nope, not for me at all.
You're right .... I think it's good AND bad. Must admit, I applauded when I heard about McDonald's robots. Given employees asking for -- and getting -- $20/hour to flip burgers, I don't blame those owners one little bit.
My son and I recently were discussing the pro's and con's of AI doctors. While they have to be programmed by 'real' doctors, I think I'd tend to trust them more than a human. Hope I never have to make that decision!
The only huge downside I can think of is in education. For instance, how can a professor tell if a student's term paper or thesis was really their work, or done by AI?
Great post!
Hooray for your birds!! I REFUSE to use self-checkout. I won't do it. AI... will ultimately be the end of us all, I'm afraid.
You have birds , how nice. Do you mean that they come in your yard or do you have them in a cage ?I hope that all is with you and your loved ones.
So glad you have birds! they are so fun to watch.
AI there is good and bad in everything.
Have a wonderful day
Cathy
We’ve had cameras at the self checkout for years. I can understand that with so much shop lifting but then on the other hand, when they catch them, nothing is done. No consequences. Our store has these industrial robo cleaners that go around and vacuum and mop the floors. The McDonald’s here has only the Kiosk in which to order. Very few workers. That’s what $20 an hour for fast food workers did.
I don’t care for it but it’s here and it’s not going anyway. Enjoyed your post.
There are a lot of robotic devices at your check-out stores where you live. Of course, I don't see them in the mountains, but I really didn't see them all that much in my hometown either. I don't like that they video taped you checking out. You're right, old people make mistakes, especially when there's a long line in back of them. I'm so glad you are seeing the birds now! Do you get the red cardinals coming around? I've always wanted to see them. Don't see them in California where I live.
Have a happy week, Sandie.
LOVE your Chatty Crone sunflower at the end of your post!

Oh so glad you have birds!! I am still ready for the world to be like the Jetsons, I really liked that Rosie the Maid, she can come to my house anytime. LOL!
I am not a fan of AI but it is the way of the future
Many jobs that are being eliminated are traditionally held by women. Secretaries, cashiers, waitresses, librarians are predominantly female jobs. Their salaries sustained many a family. I truly fear what modern technology will do to economic stability and quality of life for American families.
My son told me that Walmart is stopping self checkout because they are losing too much money. I never use it.
So pleased you have birds, they are such fun to watch :)
All the best Jan
Oh yes, lots of questions no doubt. BUT it is coming more and more. I cannot decide how much I like of the AI stuff. I am not crazy about ordering using a kiosk. I do not mind self check out except the veggies, weighing them and picking the product on a screen.
However I do not relish a robot performing surgery on me. LOL
Very good post today, thanks we are in Michigan at present...
Love you lady!
I'm so happy that the birds came!! And it will get even better, word gets around, and there will be more and more to see, and when a new variety shows up, it' s fun! It's getting hot and humid here again, how 'bout there?
I am not a fan of AI. I will take God over anything in this world anytime. I hate to see jobs eliminated to be replaced by all of this technology. I still search out great CS. Had to use a self check today as the lines in the grocery store were insane and I had too many other errands to run. I told this little gal working in the self check area that I had to split my order, even though it was very small. I said that I liked to let the clerk know what I am doing. She said, no problem, I am not one of those and I am here to serve you and help you if needed. She made my day be even better than it started out to be! Love interacting with people. It is good to see you here. Miss those emails we would share ad remembering all the fun things we participated in with other bloggers. I hope you have a great weekend.
I'm not sure my comment went through; so here's my second trial.
I sometimes use AI generated images instead of my photos or web photos. It's nice and innovative.
Generally, I haven't still formed a solid opinion on the AI topic. I suppose it has positive sides as well as negative sides. We shall see.
A robot showed us to our table at an Asian restaurant recently. It was surreal. All I can think of is Mr. Data. Oh, and Terminator. Run for the hills!
