GOOD MORNING SUNSHINES!

Jeanne Calment — the woman who lived 122 years and 164 days.
This isn’t just a long life — it’s a record that still hasn’t been broken.
She was born in France, on February 21, 1875.
When Jeanne took her first steps, the Eiffel Tower was still under construction, and Van Gogh was just beginning to paint his masterpieces.
At age 13, she met Van Gogh in her uncle’s shop, where he was buying paints.
“Dirty, gloomy, with a terrible temper,” she recalled.
She could never have imagined that she would outlive everyone — and live to see Van Gogh become a legend.
In 1896, Jeanne married Fernand Calment, a wealthy merchant.
She never had to work — instead, she enjoyed tennis, swimming, and cycling.
But life wasn’t without tragedy.
Her only daughter died in 1934, and later, her grandson — whom she raised as her own — died in a car accident.
At 90, she was still riding a bicycle.
At 100, she lived independently.
At 110, she remembered everything.
At 122, she was still eating chocolate, drinking wine, and speaking with wit.
She made a deal with a lawyer — he would pay her monthly in exchange for her apartment after her death. But…
He died before she did — after 30 years of payments, having paid more than the apartment was worth.
Her secret to longevity was simple:
a little wine, olive oil, a sense of humor,
and most importantly — not worrying about things you can’t change.
Jeanne Calment passed away on August 4, 1997.
But her life became a legend.
Because she didn’t just live long —
She lived with energy, character, and a smile.
Let her story remind us:
Longevity is not just about the years you live — but how you live those years.
Standing 1,400 meters above sea level in the Ba Na Hills outside Da Nang, the awe-inspiring Golden Hand Bridge spans 150 meters and is held up by giant moss-covered hands. The footbridge is lined with purple Lobelia Chrysanthemums and curves out over the valley below in an elegant crescent shape. It is the sculpted hands holding the bridge that give this location a real ‘wow’ factor.
This spectacular location offers breath-taking views of the surrounding landscape and is a popular destination for sightseeing and photo stops. Once colonized by the French, the area boasts an intriguing mixture of European and Vietnamese heritage, creating an interesting juxtaposition of French architecture with the distinctively Vietnamese mountains and farmland.

Very interesting! And what incredible things Jean saw in her life!
If I live to be that woman's age, I'd want to be just like her! What a wonderful life she lived. I'm getting up there but still have a long way to go to reach 122. Not everyone who gets older, is able to be like her.s
Jeanne was an amazing and resilient woman.
You're so right, Sandie. It truly doesn't matter how long you live, but how you live the days God gives you. What an amazing woman Jeanne was! And I got a good laugh out of the birding for dummies. Yep! Blessings!
That bridge is amazing and kinda freaky at the same time. Love the “birding for dummies” 🤣
I knew it, chocolate and wine are the secret to longevity. I'm good. 😂🩷
That is an incredible story about the 122-year old woman. At 90, she was still riding a bicycle! And at 122, she was still eating chocolate! The "Birding for Dummies" is funny. I always try to know my birds. There are so many different kinds of birds, and it's hard to keep up. Now, I'm wondering.......where do you find your interesting stories that you share? You must tell me. ; )
