My best friend from college above and her husband below. Peg & Joe. They got married a month after us.
This is a funny story - she is Swedish and was blonde, and he was Italian and had very dark hair.
At their wedding I will never forget - one side of the church was totally blonde and the other side totally dark brown haired. So unique at the time. They look great, don't they? Married 50 years too.

My SIL is now in a nursing home - she was a little older, but we aged together.
I feel bad, but she has accepted it so well. I hope when my time comes I will.

My sister's twins had their Quinceanera's. It was a huge party. It is like a coming out party. It was in CA and I wanted to go but could not.

Funny when you are young you can't wait to get old - when your old you miss your youth.
My son (in aqua) grew up with the man in the black shirt - since elementary school.
They met in Sunday School.
That is their two wife's and three children all grown up.

We live near the Marietta Square - where a lot of the houses are landmarks from the Civil War.
Very interesting - when we first moved here in 1986 the Civil War was much more prominent.
Now there are so many northerners here - it's almost? - been forgotten.

This summer my daughter and I went out once a week to have lunch at some place new.
"Gianni and Mac". We had been there before but went back to get a spumoni ice cream.
Have to say we were bad.
We justified it because my daughter had to go back to work yesterday.

It is so unfair showing photos of ice cream and not leaving a bit by the monitor for us to taste.

Oh yes Sandie....time moves on doesn't it? I laughed about the story of your friends and how one side was all blonde haired people and the other dark. Made me wonder what color hair their kids have. Oatmeal raisin is my favorite cookie. I could sure eat one this morning with my coffee...lol.
July went by way too fast for me, but any more it goes faster and faster everyday! We need to stop and reflect now and then so we don't loose important memories! It's nice to list them so we don't forget. Nice post today!
July went very fast for me, with two weeks of it "up north". I wouldn't trade those two weeks for anything, though! I enjoyed your post and the photos! That ice cream looks so good!! Have a blessed week ahead!

Nice post and you have such a beautiful family, Sandie. I keep meaning to bake some oatmeal raisin cookies - they are my husband’s favorite as well. Oh my that chocolate spumoni looks heavenly. Of course I love anything with chocolate.

What a wonderful assortment of memories, Sandie! My mother's all-time favorite ice cream was spumoni ... not easy to find "back in the day." One of my last happy memories surrounding her time in the nursing home was when she learned spumoni was regularly featured for dessert. How her face lit up!

The more time goes on, the faster it races! I was asking our granddaughters about a concert they went to recently. They said "Grandma, that was two years ago." I was aghast! Peg & Joe look so good!!

Yes, time does move on. And it moves way to fast.
I received some Elk steaks before, and they tasted a little strange. I guess there's a way to prepare them. That pizza looks delicious, and it's so nice to have a good pizza place to go to. I've been craving pizza lately. The oatmeal raisin cookies look Yummy. My father-in-law used to make a BIG batch from time to time, and they were the best. I really miss them. The Quinceanera looks festive, and the pink dress is pretty. That's interesting that you live close to the area where the Civil war took place. Haven't had Spumoni ice cream in a long time, but I love it. It's tasty, isn't it? Can't believe school is starting for your daughter this week. Always a delight visiting with you, Sandie, and seeing what's happening in your world.

Hi, you asked if I had Spumoni before. Yes its pretty yummy. I don't order it in an ice cream place but always have it when we go to The Spaghetti Factory for a meal. Its so refreshing.

Yes, when we are old, we tend to want to be youthful.
Going into a nursing home can be stressful and upsetting for some, a lot depends on the nursing home some a nice friendly places others are not. You had a good month by the sounds of it

Loved the post as always. The pictures are 'good stuff' we dearly love to see the grandson and hear about him and his life. AND YES getting old does send your mind back, OUCH.
And yes I have trouble explaining our crazy life and life style. WE are moving just a mile down the road to our grand daughters place and she is moving here. It is confusing because she bought the house from us now we are actually buying it back because it is what we want for retirement. Love you girl and wish the best in life, and it is wonderful to have close friends who were married around the same time and still around, we have one couple like that and they live in Pennsylvania..
O good gracious your daughter is back to school already. It just seems like she just started summer break. It is August though and time does move on. The photos of your friends look great. Fifty years is certainly worth celebrating. So glad you shared photos from the past. I am sure they bring back wonderful memories. Well it won't be long now until McKenzie is here.
