DECEMBER 2 COWS DON'T GIVE MILK - I read this and wanted to share - I think it's a good lesson to share . . .

 A WISE STORY:

A father used to say to his children when they were young — When you all reach the age of 12, I will tell you the secret of life.

One day when the oldest turned 12, he anxiously asked his father what the secret of life was.  The father replied that he was going to tell him, but that he should not reveal it to his brothers.

The secret of life is this: The cow does not give milk.

"What are you saying?" Asked the boy incredulously.

As you hear it, son: The cow does not give milk, you have to milk it.
You have to get up at 4 in the morning, go to the field, walk through the corral full of manure, tie the tail, hobble the legs of the cow, sit on the stool, place the bucket and do the work yourself.  That is the secret of life, the cow does not give milk. You milk her or you don't get milk.

There is this generation that thinks that cows GIVE milk. That things are automatic and free: their mentality is that if "I wish, I ask.... I obtain."
"They have been accustomed to get whatever they want the easy way...But no, life is not a matter of wishing, asking and obtaining.

The things that one receives are the effort of what one does. Happiness is the result of effort. Lack of effort creates frustration.”

So, share with your children from a young age the secret of life, so they don't grow up with the mentality that the government, their parents, or their cute little faces is going to give them everything they need in life.

Remember:
“Cows don't give milk; you have to work for it.”

Thank you Sandie for the wonderful story about the cow. Today's generation is an "entitled" generation believing the world owes them a living. I often see youngsters with expensive cell-phones and wonder who is paying for all their calls and how much.

God bless.

I enjoyed this story this morning Sandie. I so wish that the world would read this .... including Gen Z's and learn from this milk story. Entitled ...this one word has always rubbed me wrong. It is such a small word, but it sure carries a big heavy shadow of selfishness. How did this happen? Enjoy a great week...hugs.

That is so good! I'm afraid there are far too many people who are entitled now.

Such wise advice! We have to work for every thing we want in life. No one just hands it to you or if they do it's never appreciated, My kids all thanked me for teaching them the responisibility of working for what they wanted.

That's a fantastic story, Sandie, and certainly something we should teach our children and grandchildren. Love the cute memes, too. Blessings!

I really enjoyed the story, Sandie. Simple but so true.

Amen to that! What we did was work on projects together as a family. Strong family ties and an incredibly competent, happy daughter.

That's a cute story. We live in a world where so many things are given to our young ones, and there are too many choices for their little minds. It gets me thinking about Little House, when the girls would be happy they got a penny and cookie with sugar and red mittens. ; )

Have a merry and bright Christmas season, Sandie. I love your dancing Santa and reindeers at the end.

Very interesting and good point about the cows. I take magnesium every day. I checked the math out on my phone. Loved the giraffe.

There was a program I watched years and years ago, where Jamie Oliver asked a series of primary school children where milk came from. More than half said the supermarket, and also didn't know that cows were involved at all!
Great tale to share Sandie.

I lost my comment, but I just wanted to say YOu put a smile on my face. Love it. Glad I could drop by. Love you 'Georgia Peach.' That is what my dad called my mama, and he was a farmer before he became a preacher.
