Show and Tail

Please visit Angela over at West Virgina's Treasures. She had hosted something called Show and Tail a place where she would talk about animals - today she is retiring that meme. :(
Anyway you could visit her and say goodbye to Show and Tail Tuesdays!

This video will make your day... I hope you enjoy it.

If you listen really close in the audio you can hear the woman who is recording this trying

to keep her kids quiet in the background so as not to frighten the moose and chase them away.

Just click below.

Show and Tail - Carpenter Bee's

Please join Angela at her Show and Tail Tuesday - where she hosts a day to talk about animals - our animals - others animals - tips - or trips about animals.

I guess technically bees are not animals - so I'm writing about insects.

Insects called carpenter bees. Who knew that some bees out there want wood and not honey?
Apparently we have some really great tasting word here in our yard.

The area is to the left of the front of the house and next to my bottle tree.

They can do a whole lot of damage. And they cause some strife here at home as well. Some men love to work on their homes - mine does not. He hates it.

So far all his retirement has been repairing the house - because and now try to figure this out - he procrastinated all the jobs on the house when he was working. There ended up to be at least 30 things to fix and some of them were huge -

This one was so so. Had to go to Home Depot and get some new wood. Cut it to size.

And then exchange the wood. Now I suggested that he spray something around there - but he didn't. How do you know that the bees won't come back to do it again I asked?

His job this week is cutting the acre of weeds he let grow into trees - instead of spraying it at the beginning of summer.

I think he really does like hard work. But you know - at least he's doing it and he really does an okay job.

Now with all the suggestions on my bottle tree - I searched diligently for tiny solar lights - and let me tell you that was not an easy feat. Then to put them on - for me - was no easy feat - I put them on and took them off a million times.

Okay it's a lousy picture I have to do a redo - but I added a butterfly at the base. I have an affinity to butterflies and this is keeping it in with insects and insects is what I am showing and tailing' about today - see how my mind deviates?

Show and Tail

It is Show and Tail Tuesday with Angela - it's the day we can talk about animals - our animals - other animals - tell stories - share information - please join her with your story or pictures.

Okay - we are famous for our squirrels. We have had them in the attic three times - oh my goodness it has been rough. So Ginny on her blog showed us this bird feeder. I loved it - so I got one!

Looks like a yellow live saver.
Hanging off the deck. Now every single bird feeder we have the squirrels have gotten in.
Someone sent me where to buy the squirrel proof bird feeder.
I bought one for a $100! Still didn't work!

Nope - my squirrels are toooooooooooooooo smart.

So I wondered if the squirrel could get through this.

Yep - hopped in and started eating.
And eating. And yes he is cute with those brown eyes!
But so far - we have no birds!

Show and Tail

Please Join Angela over at her Show and Tail Post - she hosts a place where we can write about animals, share some pictures, or tell about interesting facts about animals.

Now how do these animals relate to my last picture?

Hubby and grandson.

Know how you buy the kids toys and they like the box it came in better? Same with paper plates.

Again with the paper! See his cow licks on his hair line - think he might have some curls.

Now the eyes are my DIL but those cubby checks are definitely his daddy's. They look like he has food stored in them. Son exact same way as a baby.

Okay both grandsons and daughter and DISCO. Take a look at the direction Disco is sitting in.

Grandsons and DIL. He loved his older cousin - I think he knew he was littler like him.

Okay see Disco. He was a rescue dog. Had suffered neglect and we think abuse from his behavior. So what did we do but spoil him. He went from being neglected to a male diva. He was good, but so jealous of the baby. He couldn't relax - kind of pouted. And just looked on. By the time they left he was exhausted!
No worries. He's back to be rested and spoiled again.

A man and his dog were walking along a road.
The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.
He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years.
He wondered where the road was leading them.
After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road.
It looked like fine marble..
At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.
When he was standing before it, he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.
He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.
When he was close enough, he called out, 'Excuse me, where are we?'
'This is Heaven, sir,' the man answered.
'Wow! Would you happen to have some water?' the man asked.
'Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up.'
The man gestured, and the gate began to open. 'Can my friend,' gesturing toward his dog, 'come in, too?' the traveler asked.
'I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets.'
The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.
"Excuse me!' he called to the man. 'Do you have any water?'
'Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in.'
'How about my friend here?' the traveler gestured to the dog.
'There should be a bowl by the pump,' said the man.
They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it.
The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.
When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree.
'What do you call this place?' the traveler asked.
'This is Heaven,' he answered.
'Well, that's confusing,' the traveler said.
'The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.'
'Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell.'
'Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?'
'No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind.'
Thank you Linda

Have you read the book Heaven is for Real? If not read it! Great book. It is the story of a child who died and went to Heaven. He came back and told his dad over the course of a few years what he saw. He could not have know any of it. Said he saw animals in Heaven. That would be nice.
