Florence Griffith Joyner -

Track and field athlete. Born December 21, 1959 in south Los Angeles. Known for her world-record speed, form-fitting bodysuits, and six-inch fingernails. Griffith Joyner was a triple gold medalist at the 1988 Seoul Olympics who captivated the world with her blistering speed and flamboyant style.

Griffith Joyner displayed a muscular physique, which prompted rumors of steroid use. She insisted she never used performance enhancers and she never failed a drug test. Griffith Joyner was voted The Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year for 1988 and also won the Sullivan Award as the nation's top amateur athlete.

She died unexpectedly of heart failure at age thirty-eight on September 21, 1998. She and her husband had one daughter.

Hey Chatty!

Love the Christmas lights display! My husband used to talk about doing something like that to our house when we were first married. I don't know where his ambition went? lol

That is sad that someone who trains and is physically fit would die from heart disease. It goes to show you heart disease don't discriminate and only effect the overweight people like they say!

Merry Christmas!

Love it. Just don't seem to be as many houses decorated this year as in years past.

LOVE IT, that is some beat, had me bouncing in my seat listening to it. I wish we could decorate like that house, but then of course I would need "That" house.

I remember being sad when I heard about Flo Jo's death. I couldn't get the video to load (old computer) but I bet it was a cool one!
