Chatty Thinking . . .

Well, I've finished our out west trip - hope you enjoyed it and wasn't bored to death - I also use this as a journal so that one day I might go back and see what I did with my life.

Getting back to a somewhat normal format - if there is such a thing for me - I like to think about things and and see how I can improve my life - growing as a person and as a Christian.

I know that the importance of life is not the things we gather, how much money we make, how many nice things we have, where we can vacation - it's what we give or scatter to others that really marks the kind of life you have lived.

Now that is a good definition of life - and I try to follow it - however, I fail - probably every day.

I have dreams of winning the lottery especially. Who says money can't make you happy? I think of all the problems it could solve here. I have so many issues going on here - that it would help, but doesn't everyone?

I think I would love the travel and see the world. I had such a wonderful adventure in Alaska when I went last summer, but doesn't everyone want to travel and see the world?

I would give 10% to the church. I'd help my family - get them all straightened out, but wouldn't everyone do that?

At night sometimes I think about winning it and what would I do if I won it - after I pray! No so good.

I KNOW in my heart and in my head - it's not the answer to life. The true answer is not what I can get, but what I can give - who I can help - what I can do. On the other hand I feel I've done a lot of that on the home front and it can get tiring to do what is right and give to others.

So my mind always spins and an answer is hard for me. I don't have one. So humbly I just

Happy Birthday to Carl Jung - wikipedia -

Jung emphasized the importance of balance and harmony. He cautioned that modern people rely too heavily on science and logic and would benefit from integrating spirituality and appreciation of unconscious realms. He considered the process of individuation necessary for a person to become whole. This is a psychological process of integrating the conscious with the unconscious while still maintaining conscious autonomy. Individuation was the central concept of analytical psychology.

Any one familiar with Jungian therapy - I think it has some good things in it myself - not everything.

And Dorothy Hamill - wikipedia

Hamill wrote an autobiographical book, On and Off the Ice. She was married and divorced twice: to singer/actor Dean Paul Martin (1982–1984), and then to Kenneth Forsythe (1987–1995), with whom she had a daughter named Alexandra. Her second autobiography A Skating Life: My Story, was published in October 2007 by Hyperion Press.

Hamill has continued to skate in shows, including a regular principal with Broadway on Ice). She was a "special guest" in the Brian Boitano-Barry Manilow skating extravaganza at AT&T Park in San Francisco on December 5, 2007.

On January 4, 2008, Hamill announced that she was being treated for breast cancer.[7] Following her battle with cancer, Hamill began encouraging people to eat a plant-based diet to reduce their risks of contracting cancer and other diseases.

Ah, great post! I'd love to win the lotto as well. I'm quite certain that I would have all sorts of new friends and family who would be ever so attentive to my life. Ha!

I think money can solve some problems, and having fewer problems is definitely a relief, but that alone doesn't define happiness. I've known people with money, without health concerns and seemingly anything they could want within their reach, but they still aren't happy.

Me, I am happy all the time. I am just not "normal"...whatever that is! LOL!

I enjoyed all of your trip pictures. I wasn't bored. :)
Of course money isn't everything, but we do need it to survive and buy things we need.

Hey Chatty!

All I can say about the lotto is that it is fun to dream about it but there is a man from WV who actually won one of largest powerballs and it ruined it life! I wouldn't trade my life for his at all. His grand daughter is dead because of him winning the lottery and giving her a very large sum of money every week to spend. That poor man didn't know that it would change his life for the worse. Jack Whittaker is his name if you want to google to find out more about him.

Hugs,
Angela

I think about the Lottery also and my reason it would solve some problems and let me worry less. BUT I'm not suppose to worry anyway..God is in charge. I fail that one daily I'm afraid. I try, really I do, but I fail. Still I see his hand in all I do and all that is my life. So I will join you dear friend, and I will look up and Marvel!

I would personally not want to win the lottery.. I do not play.... Life has enough troubles and woes. I would worry that the money would corrupt me.
To be content with what we have is a real blessing.

Hi Sandie....How are you doing? It's okay to dream of the lottery. I know if I had a lot of money, I'd be happy to be able to share it more with a lot of people, doing a lot of things. Anyway, I enjoyed your post. Take care. Susan

A lotto win would allow me to bring Wayne home with 24 hour nursing care!!!

Sometimes I think that winning the Lottery would bring more problems into people's lives than they could imagine. I've read stories about how some people who have won it have lives that are in utter shambles. Not saying that I wouldn't like to win. I would. But I would want to know that I could handle the responsibility that a fortune would bring with it. With great wealth comes great responsibility. If I won, I would want to win at least $20 million. Doesn't that sound like a nice number??? ;-)

Sheila

Oh yesssss; I can certainly identify with your dreamscapes!

Somedays are guilt-ridden, realizing I've wasted so much of my life ...Conflicting, confusing messages to "self."
(Say, I don't recall this being a part of that poem, "What little girls are made of?"!!!)

Your last line is perfect!

Hi Sandie, oh I think we all dream of winning the lotto..and what we COULD do with it. Money isn't the answer to everything but it sure helps to have a little I guess.

I think it could cause a lot of problems too. but I would take that chance lol

I was told a while back that the secret to success (so to speak) in this world has to do with who you know--not necessarily what you do.

Yes, it is hard, Sandie. My little brain runs like a hamster in a cage over all this sometimes... then I remember to just enjoy the moment I am in... and it gets immediately better... until the little brain starts whirring again! Winning the lottery would create some interesting scenarios though!

Money is helpful it is the love of money that is the root of all evil. Look at the celebs. Life is tough though and I am with you, I would help so many. Prayers please for Veronica my sweet friend who's breast cancer came back.
Her biopsy was today. Anxious to find out the results. She is mom to one college son Reese. Hugs Anne
