(This is a great one!)

Okay I am a dessert person and I can't really or shouldn't eat highly sugared food. So I'm looking for lower calories and less sugar - YET - something good to eat and to satisfy my sweet tooth.
So I am looking in the American Diabetes Cookbook for ideas. This will be our dessert for tonight!
Apple Crisp Parfait
This version of apple crisp takes on a new appearance with a light, flavorful topping.

1/3 cup old fashioned cooking oats
3 Tbsps brown sugar or the equivalent in artificial sweetener
2 Tbsps water
1 tsp cinnamon
4 oz fat-free vanilla yogurt, sweetened with artificial sweetener
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
3/4 cup fat-free whipped topping
Preparation
- Mix apples, oats, brown sugar, water and cinnamon.
- Pour apple mixture in a 1-quart microwave-safe bowl.
- Cover with wax paper and microwave on high for 5 to 7 minutes, rotating 1/4 turn halfway through cooking time.

Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles, Please no bags And please lift my butt before it sags.
Please no age spots, Please no gray and as for my belly, Please take it away.
Please keep me healthy, Please keep me young, and thank you Dear Lord, For all that you've done.
Five tips for a woman....
1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job.
2. It is important that a man makes you laugh.
3. It is important to find a man you can count on and doesn't lie to You.
4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you.
5. It is important that these four men don't know each other!! (Now I just got a HOOT out of that!)

Gee, I woke up thinking it isn't what hurts but what doesn't that dictates what you'll do for the day.
Oscar Levant must have been younger than me when he uttered your quote. ;-)
LOL about the men one, Sandie, too funny!! That recipe sounds interesting; let me know how it comes out; my SIL tries to avoid sugar so she might like this if I make it for a holiday treat. I like that it is low in calories!

Hi! Thanks for your visit to my blog! I was just visiting yours late last night and meant to leave a comment, but got sidetracked as I often do. :D From reading, I see we have a lot in common. I'll be signing up to be a follower, it's always fun to make new friends.
The apple crisp sounds good. I am diabetic and I'm supposed to be controlling it by my diet which means no sugar. Afraid I'm not doing so good with it. My main culprit is Pepsi...I'm addicted! And I don't like the diet versions.
Cute prayer and tips! LOL! I'll pass the tips along to my daughter, she'll love them!
Have a great day. ~Cheryl

I totally lost it with that last part. Oh good grief... that's too funny!
And since we're low sugar here, that recipe looks good.
I've had a real sweet tooth lately and this sounds good.
Hey dear friend Sandie,
Yes!! I agree that we should all keep on learning in our lifetime, because we shouldn't let our minds go idle and lazy. Our brains need to be nourished with brand new learning stuff, just as much as our stomachs with food.
I keep on learning new things, and I feel great about it. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with the world, sweet Sandie!!
You've got an awesome blog.
Thank you for visiting my site!!
God bless you!!
Love in Christ,
Poet Starry Dawn.
That was a riot, Sandie. Hilarious. Didn't get to read your blog til night time so now I'll go to bed smiling. hee heee heee You're too much. Susan
Goodness, but this one hit home! My "downfall" isn't sugar-sweets, but salt :( ....Nevertheless addicting.
Come to think of it, all I've had to eat today is half a JAR of roasted peanuts.
This apple crisp sounds really yummy ... and you know what? I don't especially like fruit. What a great idea, consulting that cookbook!

Sandie, you irreverent fool!
The recipe looks delicious. Will you make it for me and bring it on over?
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my brain to keep,
And if I should die before I wake,
May my estate the government not take.
(Just my version...)
Loved the four men thing - didn't see that one coming. However, I should have known something was up - whoever heard of all that in one man??
The boob thing? Such a deliciously PG-13 girl you are!
:)
