HAPPY MONDAY MORNING!
Here is my drive by barn shot for the week!
My Recipe of the week - remember my friend Jean? She made this for us and brought it when she came for a visit and it was delicious!
JEAN'S
BANANA BREAD
1 stick of butter
1-1/4 cup of granulated sugar
1 beaten egg
3 mashed large ripe bananas
2 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 T. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. raisins and 3/4 c. walnuts
optional
Cream butter and sugar. Beat egg and add to
mixture. Then add bananas, milk and vanilla, mixing well. Mix all dry
ingredients and add to mixture, stirring by hand. Pour into greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 70 minutes or til done. (My recipe said 50 minutes but
it takes 70 minutes in my oven!)
This was great and even my picky grandson loved it - and that is saying a lot!

that sounds yummy! Beautiful photo! Have a wonderful monday!
This is a much better "drive-by shooting" than others about which one reads.
The stillness of the bottom picture is relaxing.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Nice barn pic!! And I can't get over how quotable Sir Winston Churchill was. An amazing man.
I think my grandkids love banana bread - unless it has walnuts in it.
bob loves banana bread, my friend Madeline in Savannah, bakes a couple of them and mails them to him because i can't/will not bake. i like the truck in your barn shot
Nice drive-by barn shot. I love banana and will try this recipe.
Thanks for the lovely thought.. i'm taking a deep-breath.
Happy day to you, Sandie :)
You did a great shot of the barn on the fly! Mmmm to the banana bread!
Happy Monday :)
Love the barn! No bananas for me, thanks anyhow ;-)
Banana bread! I was just thinking about making a loaf the other day ... and now I have the recipe!
To me, the barn symbolizes a peaceful life. For those who like bananas, that sounds like a delicious recipe. My family would love it. I wonder if you could substitute pumpkin for the bananas. If so, I would dive right in.
LOVE your DRIVE-BYs. Wonderful sign about new beginnings. haven't had a piece of banana bread in ages.
Love your drive by's! That bread sounds yummy!
I have a loaf of banana bread in my freezer that I'm trying to forget about it. I love it so! ha!
Great thought for the day!
Just took a deep breath, always need to do that on Mondays for some reason. Is there nothing more tasty than warm fresh banana bread. I am not a big banana fan, but I love banana bread! Have a great week Sandie. Ann
Happy new week! I love this quote, the banana bread sounds yummy, and the barn is fabulous! My husband and I drove to Colorado and passed so many farms along the way ..my camera clicking all the time :) We live in a beautiful country!
I for one am so glad we get a new day to start over again ! A new week to experience new things and do some new things too. Tomorrow I start caring for my youngest grandson as my daughter is returning to work. Thankfully it is only part time. Good for her, the baby and me too. Hope your Monday is a great one!
Thank you for the banana bread recipe. It sounds delicious.
Hi Sandie,
Love the quotation
how true it is.
That banana bread sounds lovely
I have some bananas in the kitchen
that could certainly be made into that(only thing is I would probably demolish the lot myself)
Have a lovely day
x Fiona
The bread sounds great. We seldom bake but the recipe is saved.
I love blogs. I like it when someone uses their words, and also picks great quotes. There have been some very wise folks in this world and I am glad they, or someone took the time to record them.
"Take a deep breath, and start again!"
How many times have we done that.
Love from up here.
I meant to say, I love the barn with the older Diesel Truck Tractor, lot of memories there. My Uncles/brothers drove those for years.
Love ya!
that recipy sounds like it will taste wonderful. maybe i can try it if we replace the broken stove one day
oooh, banana bread....and I have bananas..... (love that last thought)
I am so thankful that everyday I get to start all over again!
Banana bread is one of our favorites! Will try this recipe next time.
I used to work (many years ago) with a lady that always wanted our over ripe banana's to make bread and then she'd bring to us at work. I took her advice and started making it that way; so GOOD!
Sounds like a great banana bread recipe - have a lovely week Sandie!
another great fly-by! :)
That's just how I feel when I put the kayak in the water!...:)JP
I love your drive-by and I love banana bread! I don't make it very often because I'd be the only one eating it and I don't need a whole loaf! Love the peaceful scene with the boat. Have a wonderful day!
Oh the bread sounds yummy! !!!
Gosh, that banana bread sounds great- I need to see if I have some bananas left to get started!
I like the 'barn' today, Sandie. We would call it a 'shed' but for city fold a barn is just fine.
Know I would like the banana bread too. Sounds yummy, especially is the little ones eat it good.
..

I love banana bread and way back when I was young and ambitious I used to make it from scratch. Now I buy the boxed mix....lol

Drive By Barning? That is a new one on me.
I love Banana Bread, but for me nuts and raisins are not optional. Yum!
This recipe sounds good. It made me think of a funny story about banana bread muffins I made. Maybe I'll write a post about it.

Yum. Seriously - that sounds so good.
I have a tried and true banana bread recipe, yet I'm constantly trying new ones. Makes no sense, but I do it.
(And for whatever reason, banana bread ALWAYS seems to take longer to bake than any recipe says. What's up with that?)
And I love the quote at the end.
Banana bread ~ always a classic isn't it?
Hope you are having a terrific week!
xo Catherine
