I'm trying out a meme today.



I have always enjoyed reading other blog friends when they do this meme - so I decided to give it a whirl.


1. What are your plans for Easter? Are you cooking a big lunch or dinner? Dyeing eggs? Attending a sun rise service? Eating too much chocolate?

This year we will go to our church's Easter service.  It will just be the four of us.  I am not cooking we have reservations at a restaurant called Elevations - at the small airport by our house.  We have died eggs.  Not attending the sunrise service.  And eating too much chocolate - I mean what kind of question is that - OF COURSE! 

2. What is something you feel too young to do?
I feel to young to die.I have so many things I'd like to do yet.

3. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud...it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs..."
This is one of my most favorite verses in the Bible.  I think it is the best kind of love you can have. I think God loves us like that.  I think it's a hard to attain kind of love and is a love that has to be worked on every day - every hour - and every minute of our lives.

Of the characteristics mentioned in the biblical definition of love which do you find most difficult to live out and why?
The hardest for me is the forgiveness part - when you are hurt repeatedly - over and over again - it is hard to forgive and make peace - it is not impossible - just hard.

4. What's a springtime flower you associate with your childhood?   Peonies - my mom used to have bushes of them in the back yard.  Purple.  They have to have ants you know.

5. Ever sung karaoke? If so, what's your go-to song? If not and you're given the opportunity, would you?  I have not sung karaoke - I have been close.  It would have to be a country song.  And I'd need a couple glasses of wine!  lol

6. What is something you keep in a basket?
I actually have cute little baskets all over the house - and I throw little things in some - to find them later - know I have a all ages here - and things can be all over the house!  My grandson has baskets to keep all his electronic wires and parts in - and my daughter keeps medicines in hers.  You can find really cute ones at the thrift store and they keep the house looking neat.   My baskets keep my house clean.

7. When was the last time you felt foolish?
I am so used to feeling foolish.  This morning when I took my grandson to school - our little 15 pound dog - who is as sweet as he can be - to the family - turned into a stark raving maniac dog in front of all the teachers - scared them to death.

Gosh those were harder then I thought to do - that's probably why I like it - they're thought provoking.  This meme won't be posting next week.
I am going to the zoo today as a chaperone for my grandson and his school - brrrrrrrrr!

poor Phil, at least this one is kinder to him by letting him live..
child hood flowers are azaleas and hydrangeas, mothers yard was full of them, and jonquils.
i am jealous over your trip to the zoo... sounds like a fun Easter

1. Well my Dad has been in the hospital since 3/18 – so normal Easter plans are on hold. We will be at the hospital celebrating Easter with my Dad. I normally die eggs and make baskets, not this year. I will attend Good Friday service at my church and Easter Sunday morning service.
2. I am with you….die. Actually I don’t have enough time to do that either.
3. Patience…I don’t have enough of that. Although God has certainly but enough learning exercises in my life. I keep getting taught patience but I have yet to master it. I am getting better at it.
4. Daisy’s…the park behind my childhood home had a beautiful patch of them. I picked some to give to my Mom when I was little and a police officer stopped me and told me not to pick the flowers. I was so afraid I ran all the way home. I thought he was going to arrest me.
5. Yes…I sang Karaoke with an ex-boyfriend years ago, we sang “I’ve Got you under my skin”….didn’t do half bad, needed some adult beverages before I got up on stage.
6. I have a basket in my bathroom closet that I keep all of my oral hygiene stuff in: toothbrush, floss, paste etc.
7. Foolish…I laugh at myself all the time! I am always doing something silly…I am blonde! (SMILE)

Karaoke-ha! Yes, wine is a pre-requisite : ) Peonies are my favorite...I'm going to put a bush in my yard this spring. If spring ever gets here.

Hope to see you week after next...I almost never skip, but I know with my daughter home I won't have time to read entries. Sometimes its good to give my brain a rest from thinking up the questions too : ) Happy Easter!

I like posts like this, as it helps know our blog friends a little better. Thanks for sharing. I did one similar yesterday on my blog.
1. Yes will attend my worship and Sunday School class on Easter morn.
2. I am getting closer to death every day, but would pray God wouldn't take me just yet.
3. Don't have a lot of patience, I am sad to say. I want it done NOW.
4. Iris, they were everywhere.
5. No way would I sing in public...they would run me out on a rail!
6. Two baskets in the kitchen is all.
7. Foolish most of the time.
8. I prefer to give rather than get and don't like to be in front of a crowd at all.

Dalia's were my mum's favorite flower.
I will be going to Easter Sunday mass.
Out for lunch afterwards.
Day's of dyeing eggs are over I will decorate a little around my cottage on saturday.. all children growing up. Easter sunday egg hunt. at my son's home.
sang once at Karaoke and was so embarrased ..i left the stage..)..
I have baskets and nice tins i collect to put my tit bits in. batteries, pins, small nail scissors, nail files.

Today was also my first time doing the hodgepodge. ;)

I can relate to your number 7. My Dachshunds love to ride. The two I have now are usually pretty calm in the car but Dixie Dog, my "baby" for 14 years before she died in 2009, used to terrorize the teachers in the drop-off line at the elementary school when I'd drop my boys off. She'd scare them to death barking when they opened the car door. :D

That's a great mime. I did karaoke with my daughter once and we sang Land Slide...one of my favorites. They had friends with their own Karaoke so we weren't out in public. Have fun at the Zoo!

We are going to a brunch at Encinal Yacht Club in Alameda. The brunch is yummy and then some. We went last year for the first time and it was so good we decided to do it again.

Love is patient... but I'm not. I'm guilty of envy and I'm easily angered. I keep (mental) records of wrongs. Good thing God is more, mmmmmmm, godly.

Also, I've been known to forgive, but not always. Once again, there's those mental records I keep.

What a fun meme! That passage in Corinthians has always been a tough one for me. Probably the part about not keeping a record of wrongs. I have a lot yet to work on, so I hope God doesn't take me just yet. My favorite verse is from Lamentations: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

HI There, I saw this meme on Hootin' Anni's blog post... Loved reading your answers.

We don't have any special Easter plans --other than to fix a turkey breast for our dinner that day... No chocolate here or colored eggs!!!!!

I'm too young to ride around in a wheelchair --or buggy at the Walmart (thank God).

Forgiving is hard --but we all need to remember that when we forgive, we are doing it for ourselves, not the other person.

My mother grew Peonies also. She also had tons of Irises on the bank....Love those memories!

I love little baskets and use them for all kinds of little things --such as holding my special cards, letters, etc..

Love your saying about how the TONGUE can hurt... That is SO true.

No big plans for Easter but I'm aready into the chocolate. I'm just going to answer one. My favorite flower from childhood is Honeysuckle. It was growing by the steps to my Grandma's kitchen where she cooked on a wood stove.

Must the the week of going to the zoo. My daughter and son-in-law took our Granddaughter to the zoo (her first trip) this past week. She had the best time. Enjoy your time with your Grandson. Any time spent with our Grands is a blessing, isn't it!

Memes and me don't get along with each other. I will start one but only go half way or less and then say that I will finish it up later.

I am glad that you are going to church, so will we. Not sure what for lunch yet. I won't be something very special and since the big crowds we may eat at Wendy's if Mrs. Jim's SS class doesn't go to a restaurant. Just the two of us.

I am ready to die, Sandy. But I'd just as soon not for a while yet.

Anyway Easter for me is about not eating meat and eating chocolate if anyone remembers to get me something.

I love Easter! Low key this year. We will cook ham and scalloped potatoes. Missing Nick! :-( But he was here last week! Sigh!
I was hoping to win a contest and win free brunch at a restaurant near my office. It is a really cool place and the brunch sounds yummy. They have been filled since one month ago for Easter! So we will do our phamily traditions and try not to eat too many chocolate bunnies and Peeps! Hugs Anne
