ORGANIC INFORMATION

Did you know you can't wash off pesticides?  It might take some off the outside - but the inside still has some.

Look for the produce stickers with the five-digit codes that begin with a '9'.  That means organic.

Unless it says 100% organic it is only 95% organic.

Did you know that Steve Jobs had an FBI file on him?  They questioned his honesty, saying that he twists the truth and distorts the reality in order to achieve his goals.  He used LSD as a teen; he called his use 'a positive, life-changing experience.'

Helen Keller had an FBI file on her too.  As a socialist, an outspoken critic of President Woodrow Wilson, a birth control supporter, and a founding member of the American Civil Liberties Union, Keller was considered a radical at the time.

And another one who surprised me with an FBI file was Walt Disney - from 1936 to 1966.  He worked as an FBI informant, giving the bureau the names of people in Hollywood whom he believed to be associated with communism.  Who knew?

Now here are 24 hints for the person who lives alone:

I'm not looking forward to those mosquitoes so far none have bothered us this year. They are scary because of that West Nile Virus. Had a friend that had a very bad experience with that last year and he spent over 6 months in rehabilitation because of it. We do try to use the yard fogger when spending time outside.

Interesting facts about skeeters and also about those with FBI files. I did actually know about Disney, but Helen Keller was a surprise.

I too loved the 25 tips for living along. I can relate to most of them too.

Mosquitoes love me and now I know why. There you go.

Government has been doing scary things since the get-go haven't they.

Love the laugh and the lift.

Have a terrific day. Big hugs. ☺

Wash other things in the dishwasher... hahaha!

Love the tips today. I hate mosquitoes. When we go camping, we are often assailed by them. Seems I read something somewhere that they are repelled by sticking a dryer sheet in your pocket (??) At any rate, you would smell good...

Gosh, I didn't know that about the organic. I will be checking carefully!

I just read the other day that mosquito's don't like Cat Nip. So I was outside the other night and rubbed some on my arm. Later after I came inside I was attacked by one of our cats! - Well actually he just kept licking my arm but it sounded better the other way.
Interesting read here.

Oh my gosh, how awful that pesticides don't really wash off. Ugh.

Those mosquito tips are great to know! Haven't seen any here this summer yet, but they'll be in full swing soon.

LOL at the teacher pic. I thought my daughter's teacher looked a LOT different last week than when I met her at the beginning of the year :)

Another reason to admire Helen Keller! I think Steve Jobs was not a good man because of giving all the manufacturing jobs to China where they treat their workers like slaves. Jobs was a billionaire. He didn't need to make that much money and could have helped America and Americans by making ipods etc. here. I love the teaching owl!

It doesn't surprise me about the F.B.I. I think all they used to want to do was snoop into the lives of famous people, they were reverse evil groupies. The living alone stuff is GOOD!!! I have that jar pop and it is awesome! Also my friend has mice so I sent him the peppermint thing. So many things that are good, I am going back for another look.

Great post. Somehow I am very sweet to mosquitos and use DEET repellant when I am in mosquito territory.

Ah... I love this about Grace!
Living in the DFW area we have really crazy problems with mosquitoes. My husband sprays with Cutter and we have great luck with that!
Love,
Jemma

hmm didn't know some of those things about mosquitoes.
When I was reading the 10 tips for living along I thought the one about washing other things in the dishwasher was a joke because of the cat in the picture

Betsy Banks Adams said...

Another interesting post... I would rather have good bug spray all over me than to go through the type of bites that I had recently... Itched me to death!!!! YUK...

Luckily, (knock on wood) we don't have many mosquitoes here --at least not in our yard... BUT--we do have spiders and many other bugs.

Years ago--when we didn't know better, we put out traps for Japanese Beetles. Didn't know until later that the traps ATTRACT more beetles to the yard... We do NOT do that anymore... Live and learn..

Hugs,
Betsy

Oh ho, I did not know Helen Keller was a radical? Amazing.
Disney, Mickey's dad? An informer. Bot you learn a lot around here.
Loved the laugh withe the teachers comparisons, I would bet it is close to the truth! Time for a vacation for most of them, they say, "THANK GOODNESS".

Love from North Carolina..

The poor teachers! heehee! I mentioned you on my blog just now! Come of over! HUGS!!!

I never knew that about Helen Keller. (I wish I didn't know it, in fact. It bugs me that she was a socialist.) I did know that Disney had an FBI file.

I guess we're all going to have one before long!

Debbie said...

Oh, and I wouldn't trust Steve Jobs, either. He never appealed to me. I recognize his talent, but I always got the creeps about him. Maybe I need to work for the FBI!

Love the teacher pic! There are some DAYS at work I feel like that:@)

Your packed full of knowledge today! Organic is the way to go but I find it so difficult to believe that our government allows us to eat all the unhealthy stuff! Debby

The FBI info was very interesting. I like the mosquito tips and the owls. The mosquito info explains a lot!! After reading the tips for singles, I scrolled on down, and gee, some people make nasty comments about things that don't even matter. :-(

I love owls so I sure do like the teacher owls. I have a very large calendar right here by my desk with a different owl for every month. They are so pretty I'm tempted to frame them.

In light of the news this week, I think most of us have an FBI file on us by now... or some kind of file. Wonder what mine could possibly say? "Loves to stalk blogs"? Ann

A lot of us had FBI files, Sandie. ~~ Unless all is declassified and put on the Internet with search capabilities, we'll never know.
Did you note they've been playing the oldie (hippie, left) song, I've been watching you? If you don't know it, then Google it followed by the word, "lyrics."

Your line, "Love when you work up sweat." brings back lots of sweet memories.

Hmmm. Maybe the FBI thing has something to do with this - but I kept getting a dead-end redirect when clicking into your site on this post.
