Graduation Pictures - can you believe they take them at the beginning of the senior year?

My grandson the Graduate.

We all love our grand-kids don't we?

I loved my kids too and their graduation - but somehow grands are different.
I think it is because I worried and worked as a mother.
Now my daughter does the work and worry (well I do some)
but I am enjoying it more.
Maybe because I am older.
I guess I know what it means.
The ending of something
and the beginning of another.
His life is just beginning.

I thought this was odd - they had to get causal pictures done for the yearbook as well as the formal ones.
He bought some new clothes - I know they look like he should be hot - but that is what he wanted to wear.

This was one of my personal favorites.

This is the one he picked for the book which I love too.

I did a little fiddling with this one thanks to Sandra/Madsnapper.

This is his cap and gown picture - LOL

A little fun puzzle.

A little funny joke!  I think anyway.

A fun thought:

Disco's Corner.

"Okay take my picture - just don't bother me!"

"Above all else,
guard your heart,
for everything you do flows
from it."
Proverbs 4:23

It is hard to believe that Andy is going to be graduating...he looks so handsome in all of the pictures you posted. I hope he has a great senior year and then on to the next chapter.

PRECIOUS shot of Disco sleeping and ignoring the camera.. these are super shots of your grandson and I like them all. looks like they still do the senior pics like they did mine in 1962... only did the headshot so we wore other things under... he is so tall, dark and handsome.

I love the photos of your Grandson, he looks very smart and handsome in them all. He has a very endearing smile. :)

I agree with your thoughts on having grandchildren. It seems we only get the good parts! :D

Your grandson's pictures are just great. He's a handsome young man. I had 3 grandchildren graduate this year and I remember how excited they were when senior year started. It just flew by and now they are graduates and a couple of them will soon be off to college. Not sure about the third one. Hope your grandson savors this senior year and enjoys every bit of it. Life will soon be changing for him too.

* Sigh * Doesn't it seem like he grew up faster than your own kids? I love that they have choices in their yearbook pictures now. That wasn't the case when I had mine done and the cap and gown pictures had to be done at one particular studio by appointment. There were three standard poses, period.

This year is going to fly for all of you. I wish him the best and of course, you and hubby, his mom and Disco too.

Hi Sandie - he looks lovely ... I prefer the jumper one - but he's a handsome lad, with a loving devoted Grandma ... and a lazy hazy Disco dog - who will sleep happily if allowed to! Cheers and have a great year - Hilary

He is sure a gorgeous boy...uh, young man now. And he has fashion sense! All the clothes he chose are just perfect. Especially that beautiful sweater!! It is the prettiest man's sweater I have ever seen. Great reflection edit! I think one reason grandkids are so different is that we feel we can make up for any mistakes we made with our kids' like a second chance. Plus we now have more patience and wisdom.

Nice Senior pictures of your grandson! I think they take them early so to meet the yearbook deadlines, but I know that some kids don't end up graduating.

Sandiei, congratulations on your grandson's graduation. Yes, I remember it well them taking grad pictures at the beginning of the year cause I went with my son when he had his pictures taken and was in one of the pics! haha I like the picture of your grandson against the brick wall, that's nice. And he looks handsome in his tux. Disco looks so peaceful sleeping away. And Yes, I see the English word, that's so cool.

Your posts are always delightful to me, Sandie, and I love the first picture and verse. Thank you for that.

Your grandson is so photogenic! All the pictures are great, but I do like the one he chose for the yearbook. How different from when we were in school and we were told exactly what to wear for our pictures (short sleeve sweater top, no jewelry). Glad there is a little more diversity in what they can do these days! His senior year will go by so fast! Its the years of lasts. Last first day of school, last Christmas break, etc. But he'll have a great year!

Starting Over, Accepting Changes - Maybe said...

My grandchildren seemed to grow up quicker than my children did. Maybe it is because we are not directly responsible for them and we enjoy them more. Whatever, they are more special than I ever could have imagined.

As everyone said, Andy looks so handsome in all the outfits that he choose. Remember when we graduated and the pictures showed us all with the same black material that they put around our neck and draped. Now they can show individual personality and that is a nice thing.

WOW. Andy's grown into such a handsome young man! I love what you and Sandra did with the 'mirroring.' That's my favorite.

Yay, I found the hidden word. (...'pants on fire!' LOL)

What a handsome young man.... He could wear an ole woman's pink fuzzy slippers and still look AWESOME... ha ha .... I know how proud you are of him... He knows that all of your online friends saw him grow up--right under our eyes...

Love the ICU one... Made me laugh....

Loved the You are Blessed one... You, my friend, are a BLESSING to me.

Hugs,
Betsy

He did a good job on the selection of his clothes. He looks very handsome! It used to bother me when they took the pictures so early too but once I was in a class that prepared the yearbook, I understood. But, I still don't like it! ha!

Wow I didn’t know they take pictures at the beginning of the year. He sure is handsome, in all his photos! You described being a grandparent so well. I love my 4 year old but he can’t start school for awhile yet

Your Andy is such a handsome young man and his life is all ahead of him! I'm sure he will succeed at anything he puts his mind too. He is smart!! Disco is such a cutie! I like your favorite and also the one he picked for the yearbook. Sure different from back in our day! Much more fun today!

We don't have year books here, I love all my grandchildren but I am closer to my grandsons then my granddaughters as the grandsons I see 5 or 6 days a week the granddaughters I see once a week or fortnight for an hour or so

I see /Bear or bier, any way the dude has grown into a handsome man. I am smiling because our grandson was looking at Sherry's year book and asked why everyone was dressed the same, did they make you do that? hahaha

As always I enjoyed the visit. Love from here to you.

PS: YES there is something special about the grands, Absolutely. I had to laugh the other day when my grand daughter was bragging on her beautiful daughter (and she is). I looked her square in the eye and told her, "Your daughter is very pretty and I love her, but she is not as as beautiful or as sweet as YOU were! And I mean that. She was a perfect grand daughter.
Any way PS I love you! ;-)

I love his photos. He has certainly grown up and is so handsome!

I saw the word immediately!

Sandie, he's a very handsome young man! Grandkids are truly special. Never having had children of my own, I can only guess at the feeling you have of loving the child (children) that your own children brought into the world. That has to be the double blessing in grandchildren. So the photo he chose is the one that goes into the yearbook? Not a headshot? Senior pictures sure have changed. The graduation announcements we receive are fancy and full of such beautiful pics. Congratulations! And Disco sure can snooze. ICU! That's funny and true.

Your Grand is a very handsome guy!
Yes. We LOVE our Grands. The love we have for them is beyond words.

WOW!! DOUBLE WOW!! What can I say that haven't been said before!... Yet, I could add my little share about your amazing & most handsome grandson. I think he looks so lovely & neat in photos. He should seriously consider applying in Modeling Agencies. They would ask for a portfolio with his own photos wearing different attires -as examples. He might get hired to post his adorable image in famous American Magazines. You never know. He could try, for he has nothing to lose. Besides, if he really likes it, he could even pursue an Acting Career in Theater or Films. Yes! Your Online friends have seen him grow up into a handsome young man. If your grandson chooses a professional career, he might like to become an Attorney, for he looks so good wearing suits, just like Lawyers do. I love your precious dog, Disco! You said once to me that "I'm like the wind beneath your wings." It's indeed, a remarkable quote, which melts my heart to the core. Well, I have one for you, my dearest friend, "Your Stars in the Universe light up my Sky. Thank you for lighting up my cold world! You're a bright Angel." God bless you, your dear family & loved ones.

What a handsome young man! I spent the weekend with friends whose son just finished his freshman year in college. I've known him since the day he was born and watched him grow up. It amazed me that we were discussing his college major. It seems he was just getting a fire engine for Christmas. Wishes for a sweet week!

He is a really, really handsome kid and I know you are so proud of him. Amazing how fast they grow up, isn't it?
Saw the "word" right away...and the ICU is pretty darned funny.
Hope you have a great week, Sandie. I need to get to bed (midnight here). I have a sales meeting at 8am....xo Diana

He looks so handsome! I love them all, but the first is my fave. Perfect that you got the tux with jeans pic. :) Weren't you just writing about him as a little boy?!? Where did THAT time go? And yes, his life is about to take on a new beginning. It's exciting, in a bittersweet, I'm-going-to-miss-this-kid-around kind of way, yes? :)

Things have sure changed in schools since my son graduated back in the early 1990s! Everything seems to be so rushed. I really liked it the old way when the END of senior year held all those fun things like graduation pictures. My grandson has just started high school this year and I'm already seeing how very very different things are. I know change can be good BUT...some of the "old ways" worked just fine by me!!! Your grandson is a cutie:)
