End of summer fun...school begun here in early August...

answer at the end

answer at the end
The End of Summer Grandson has a friend - whose aunt and uncle have a lake house.
This kid lives better than we do.
I have never been to a place like this, but I am happy for him.
Boy is he going to be shocked when he first starts out in life - but he will make it.

His friends 17th birthday .

Summer Is Over and it is Orientation Day - the seniors took over.

One of the teachers!

The day after orientation - before actual school started - the seniors go on a Whitewater Leadership Rafting Trip.
100 kids in the class of 2019

While they were there the parents all came and decorated their parking places and said a prayer for them.

Obviously we are no Rembrandt's!

THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - so excited now - but I wonder what he will feel like at the end - I think he will miss this.

Okay they are in school and having more fun - they went to retreat for three days and had color wars.  Grandson was purple and best friend in black.  Yellow won.

Grandson and and friend on top - the school cut that off quickly!!!

CAN WE GET DOWN TO SCHOOL NOW?
SOMETHING TELLS ME NO.

A Little Laughter

Psalm 90:15
"Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery!
Replace the evil years with good."

1. Answer:  33 (33 1/3 actually)
2.  Answer:  cigarette lighter in a car - now we use it as a plug for technology.

Wow what a great start to the school year for grandson. So many interesting activities. I thought your design of his parking place was great! May he always keep in touch with the friend with the lake house.

How wonderful to be young and have all that excitement! These are days he and his friends will always remember. Good times before reality sets in.

Love the beginning of the year activities! The high school my kids went to just began decorating parking spaces this year. I think my sons would have loved that, and me too if allowed to help.

I think the number of burgers consumed could become greater if just one of the 10 boys decided to make this a contest. I wouldn't want to be the cook or the clean up crew! ;)

I owe you an email, I know I didn't answer a few questions you had. Even without school to prep for, the last days of August and Labor Day weekend were a whirl of activity for me.

Blessings for all of you. Your grandson's senior year will be memorable for all.

Wow, he sure has been having a lot of fun! I know I must have asked you before, but I can't remember. What kind of job does he want after school? I do think school just ending for good is a huge shock. Nowadays it can be hard to find your place in the world. But he has a wonderful family, and will do GREAT! Especially being so darn cute and so smart, he will get along fine.

Your grandson looks like he's having the time of his life on the lake with his friends! Senior year was the best, I remember it well. That was so nice that the parents decorated their parking spaces and said a prayer for them. I didn't realize they have their own parking spaces. I hope your grandson has a productive and fun school year making lots of memories along the way. : )

Oh how special..... Those Seniors are having a blast, aren't they???? It's great to see kids having fun ---and not just sitting around drinking and drugging..... So many young kids/young adults these days think that the only way to have fun is by having alcohol..... Scary to me since most kids don't know the consequences when it comes to too much alcohol or drugs... Your grandson is obviously in a great school. I REALLY enjoyed this post...

Hugs,
Betsy

Wow! They get to do so many fun things! I knew the cigarette lighter because once I pushed it in real hard and smoke started to come out the dash! That was at least 50 years ago! My girlfriend and I were smoking and we thought we were cool! Your grandson is so handsome. Yes, he will be in for a surprise when he gets out of school, but aren't we all? He will go far. You raised him right. Sandie, I told you I don't like math!😂😂😜😜😂

I used to have the cigarette lighter in my Vega, but I don't see that one in my Toyota. I will have to check again.
It is so nice to read a post from you again. I hope that all is well with you.

I thought 33 burgers and knew it was a cig lighter, sucks that cars now days don't have cig lighters. Our grandchildren grow up so fast

WOW. Your header photo is stunning!
What fun, getting to witness Andy's senior activities. (Man, my high school was never that creative.) These are the days he'll remember all the days of his life!

Ahhhh... senior year. Looks like it is started well for your boy! I knew what the car lighter was and have used one many times (quit in 1983!). I loved reading through this post, Sandie!!

Loved the pictures of Andy Having fun. Making memories that will last a life time. Love the idea of decorating the parking places. Neat. I got the trivia questions. Except I mis understood the math and had it two ways.
Great entry... Yep, school has changed...

those seniors are having a blast! My senior year beginning was dreary.

Your gr-son is mighty special! He will have a great year.

I enjoyed your writing. Did not figure out the first question. The 2nd was easy peasy--my parents were heavy smokers.

Oh, and I loved the butterflies!

This is going to be a banner year for Grandson, Sandie. Lots of endings and lots of beginnings. He is so blessed to have his life so filled with love from family, lots of friends, and a bright and beautiful future! That is a lot to be grateful for, for sure. Blessings to all of you. Susan

Wow, your grandson's school really does it up for the start of the year! White water rafting even?? Yes, I bet he'll miss it, but what fun memories.

I'm glad he has a friend and happy that he got to spend time at the lake with him. Wow, a rafting trip, how exciting. That is so awesome about the parking lot. He has certainly been busy and having a lot of fun! Love all the photos.

How lovely that you all got together to decorate their parking spaces with prayers. Is it a Christian school? I'm not sure that'd fly in our district, where we have to be 'careful' what we say regarding religion. *sigh*

Looks like your grandson's year is already off to a great start! My oldest is starting her senior year this and I'm all emotional over it :-) I'm super proud of her though. That is awesome how you are able to decorate their parking spots. Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. Have a great night!

Blessings,
Jill

This is the title of your post. It means a lot to me, like the end of something, and the beginning of a brighter future...
Your granson, one day, will look back and remember the good times at School.
He is so blessed for having a loving family, great friends and a bright future ahead. He looks like he is having lots of fun in that place with his School friends by the Lake. Your grandson will graduate this coming year 2019, so he's in his Senior Year at School. Is he happy about that? I wonder...
By the way, How are you, my dear friend? How is your health, darling? Did Florence hit Georgia? I pray for all of you, for safety, family and loved ones, sweetheart. I'm thinking of you all the time. God may bless you all.
