EVERYONE LOVES DISCO - WHAT CAN I SAY?

DISCO!

I am allergic to animals - cats more than dogs.  Our family favorite is the Pug.  We tried three pugs over the years and thank GOD my good friend loves pugs.  We did get to babysit and watch them through the years.  Talk about being a villain to the family - oh boy.
We decided I am probably more allergic to pug hair.
Chihuahuas are supposed to be good for people with asthma and allergies.
So I let the family talk me into another try.

I do believe in my own heart that is was a miracle straight from God.
How we found him.
That everyone loves him and he loves everyone.
I AM NOT ALLERGIC enough to have to get rid of him.
I just don't pet him much- I know it is a little sad.
I never touch him and rub my eyes.

He thinks I am medicine woman.
I always do the medicine.
I am 4th on his love list I think because I can't pet and hold him much.

Now he loves his pack - we can do no wrong.
He just HATES everyone else.

I do have to say he has grown used to Andy's friends - somewhat.
My son and his family - somewhat.
Grandson's girlfriend - somewhat.

Somewhat meaning - he will let them go after he smells them - he will stop barking and as long as they don't put their hands down he will leave them alone.

Anyone else - he is totally upset with - which does make having company hard.

He has his own chair in the office - complete with pillows and blankets - one of grandsons from when he was a baby.

Grandson and Disco - when grandson was so little then.

He loves wind from the car window and we are holding on to him and we only do it when we get to the neighborhood and darn if he doesn't know when we are arriving into the subdivision.

Funny - while he loves the wind there - he hates his ears being blown by breathe.

He sleeps with my daughter in her big king bed - I mean he lets her sleep in his king bed.
He thinks it is his and is protective of it,
They are the best buddy pair. Number one.

He sleep partner during the day - my hubs.
His second buddy pair.

My role is when I am in the office doing my work - he sleeps in here with me - usually covered up.

His favorite color is pink - I thought they were color blind - but he only plays with the pink ones.

He also loves to sleep in the sun when it is not too hot.

His eye doesn't look right there - hmmm.

Grandson's role is cuddles and love.
These are the photos I have - all when he was younger.
He still cuddles Disco I just don't have photos persay  - grandson hates his picture taken now.
He also is into more cuddling his girlfriend now - teehee.
So grandson is his number 3 now.

He has given us all a separate role.
Daughter is number 1.
Grandpa number 2.
Grandson number 3.
Grandma number 4.

He still loves and protects Disco.

Every morning he sets on the stairs watching his breakfast being made - or someone making food - it is his perch.  He has a treat in his mouth.
He is so smart - he knows when the food is ready just by the sounds.
Doesn't bother when the food is being made.

He is very suspicious of anything new.

Here he is at Petco.  HATES CLOTHES on him.
We put a UGA bulldog shirt on.

SO THIS IS ALL ABOUT DISCO AND HOW WE ROLL.
YOU KNOW HOW EVERYONE LOVES RAYMOND?
HERE EVERYONE LOVES DISCO.

HE THINKS HE IS PERSON.
DAUGHTER HAS A CUP OF WATER ON THE TABLE BY HER CHAIR SO WHEN HE IS SITTING WITH HER HE HAS IT TO DRINK OUT OF JUST LIKE US.
HE LETS HER KNOW WHEN HE IS THIRSTY TOO.

WHOA BE THE DAY WHEN HE GETS SICK AND DIES.
WE THINK HE IS 10 OR 11 NOW - WE GOT HIM WHEN THEY THOUGHT HE WAS 2 YEARS OLD.

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!

MA - wrote about trees the other day.

This is my tree.
Her sister died died or was killed and cut down.
This tree is on the foothills of the Kennesaw Mountains
That is where the last battle of the Civil War was fought and lost.
This tree was a little baby at that time.

THINK OF ALL IT HAS SEEN!!!
It is H U G E !

Okay too gabby today, but then I only post twice a month - so not too bad I hope.
Remember I am CHATTY.

How do you cut your toast?

Do you have a pet?
Share a funny thing about them...

IMO Dogs make the best pets. The granddogs are our pets here othe than the feral cat, she is getting next to me and I do enjoy petting her. Good read and love the pictures.

I don't have a pet, we used to have 2 cats but they died. I do miss them but we were both allergic to them, so we won't replace them.

I'm a strong believer in that last meme!

Nice post about your fur baby...EVERYTHING is Kizzy's at our house (even the house). She turned 16 this past March and I have had her since she was 7 weeks old so I know my days are numbered with her and I dread it. Love those fur babies, they are family.

Life without a pet is harder. Who would love you no matter your mistakes, faults, or moods. I am very allergic to almost all creatures, but I couldn’t imagine my life without an animal and a box of tissues and a prescription of drugs.

Hurrah, an entire post just for Disco! He has changed, because grandson used to be number ONE for sure!! But of course he is not there much of the time now. So many interesting facts! My favorite picture of all is the one with him standing behind the steps with a bone in his mouth! And reacting to those flowers, ha ha!! A shame about your allergies. I am allergic to cats, but we have them. I take three allergy meds a day! Well, I am allergic to other things as well, so I would still need to take them anyway.

Disco is a great pet and member of your family! You know our most favorite pet with Koda whose #1 was my hubby, then #2 son (who he thought more of a brother) and me coming in #3. I remember reading about you guys getting Disco and hoping it would work with your allergies. I can't believe its been 9 years! I rarely make toast these days but when I get it when we are out eating, it is usually cut triangle shaped. I love your tree!

What a great idea for a post! I wonder if Disco realizes he's a STAR?

Mevely317 said...

PS - I meant to "wow" on that tree. 'Never much a fan of history, except the Civil War. More so, now that we're living in the South.
OMG on that tattooed lady. Bleach my eyes!

Your Disco is precious and y'all really do enjoy him!

Ah, that tree!! We are finishing Gods and General and will go on to re read Killer Angels. I have not read Last Full Measure but we will read that one too. Michael Shaara and his son Jeff wrote such great books on the Civil War and Jeff also wrote on on the Mexican War.

I love your chatty posts!!!

We have had a few dogs over the years, including a chihuahua they can be an adorable breed. Disco is of course amazing and oh so cute

Oh, Disco is so funny. How beloved he is to everyone in your family. That is so funny that his favorite color is Pink. I didn't know you were allergic to pet hair. These are such cute pictures of your grandson with Disco through the years. I hope he stays around for awhile. It seems that he brings joy to everyone. The ones from the car window made me smile. : )

Disco is SO adorable! So what if he doesn't get along with everyone - neither do I :). That's cute that he only plays with pink toys.
Supposedly, I'm allergic to dogs and cats. But we have two dogs and one cat, so I deal with it. They truly do have unique personalities.

Sandie, I remember when you got Disco..from what i can recall, you were not sure it would work out. So glad he has! And yes, he rules the house like our Prince does, lol..
I am beginning to blog once again. I "lost" my blogging voice in 2011.. would love it if you stopped by for a visit, I've a few recent posts!

He is such a sweetie pie. Glad he doesn't bother you too much. We had gone to the Terriers because they are non shedding, shed like humans and they are great for allergies. We are all allergic to cats.

I love your "Chatty" post .
Disco sounds like quite a member of your family.
they certainly are smart creatures. Glad you found one that doesn't give you too much trouble breathing.
My "pet" is our son's labradoodle, Snickerdoodle.
She's our , as we call her, Granddogger. We dog sit her on occasion and that's plenty of dog time for Hubby and I.
I had a parakeet when I was about 10. Perry was a strange bird after he flew into the mirror. I was sad when he passed though.

To answer your question Sandie I think I was 23 or 24 in this photo. I really don't know.
Married at 20.

Hi Sandie, Disco has grown heavier since I last saw him, way before we were lost. Your telling of him is great, almost a book for memories. It does seem he likes to sleep a lot, wherever his can find a host. Most times I cut my toast #2, a few #3 as they are thinner for dunking.

p.s. We don't have pets anymore since they all died, Adi the Beagle (my Buddy), Katrin the Toy Poodle, and Amber, the cat. Even KP's (granddaughter that we were keeping because the SIL is allergic to animals) Beta Fish died. We have ashes for everyone except the fish.

p.s. And my clouds aren't there. But they are in the pond Reflection, really pretty.

OH!! WOW!! This one is one of your best posts about "DISCO, THE STAR."
He is adorable, and I love him. I remember when I first met you in Blogland, you have already had Disco at that time. Small dogs live longer than big ones.
I'm sorry not to write a longer comment. My cat, Baylee is sick.
She went to the Vet Clinic yesterday, and she'll have to go back tomorrow.
Baylee may have a genital infection. She is bleeding there. She got fever.
Hubby is not doing too well either. Anyway, I love your posts, especially this one -when you tell us about "DISCO, THE STAR." I love animals & nature!
The tree in your picture is amazing, an oldie -but beautiful.
The lady with tatoos looks weird. I don't like tatoos.
I'll write more when I feel better, dear friend. Bye for now, sweetheart.

I'm not really a pet purse.. we had turtles growing up and my mom now owns a parrot. My husband is not big on pets either so it works out well.
Happy to hear you managed to find Disco and keep your allergies under control.

I do believe I have been reading your blog since your grandson was exactly that little! :) Disco does have a fan club, but I betcha he would not be happy with us in person. BTW- that lady really overdid the tats...JMO.
Have a great week!

I enjoyed this so much! Our dogs love us so much and don’t ask for much although Annie begs me to go walking and makes me feel guilty when it’s too hot. Around here, I am number 1 and DH is second. The grandkids get so irritated that Annie always sits with me and they beg her to be on their lap. Jack asked if something happened to me, could he have Annie. Loved all your pics of your grandson and that is too funny about your daughter keeping a cup of water beside her. When I was waiting yesterday at the Apple store, I was watching people walk by and amazed at the number of tattoos I saw on people.

Happen to see you over at Jim's and thought I'd swing by and say hello. I've not talked with you in a very long time. I hope you're doing well.
