What kind of comment form do you use?

COLLEGE

My grandson's first day of college.
He needed a haircut and has since gotten one.

Kindergarten

It happened in a blink of an eye.

Something to learn about:

Now this is an interesting fact to me - this is how pineapples are grown - for some reason - I thought they grew on trees?  Dah. Dumb Chatty.

DISCO
IS SUMMER OVER YET?
I'm tired.

A lot of you are grandparents - do you do more crazy things now as grandparents then you did when you were 'just' a parent?
I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Something important to think about.

Something to Joke about:
(Do jokes have a little bit of reality in them?)

DO YOU LIKE TO PLANT?  PLANTING HACKS.

Okay Question:
WHAT KIND OF COMMENT FORM DO YOU USE AND WHY?

I really want to know the answer.
Please know I am NOT criticizing anyone I simply want to know the answer.
How and why do you handle your comments the way you do?

There are a couple kinds of comment forms I guess you'd say -
One type has a place where the moderator can leave a note back to the person who makes a comment another kind is where the person reading the post just leaves a comment.

Now some bloggers don't comment back to the person who wrote it and some do comment back via email.

How do you make the decision of how to answer your comments?

When you write a comment back to the person who made a comment on your post - does it go to them? Does the person know you have written back?

If not, does the person who leaves the original comment - come back to see  if there was a response?

I try to get an email from everyone who follows me.  I like to answer them back personally. I have developed a couple really strong bonds that way. That is just my preference and why.

So tell me - Inquiring Minds Want To Know - how do you handle your comments and why?

LOVE YOU ALL!

There is such pride, tinged with a little bit of sadness when our grandchildren go off to college. My third one left a few weeks ago and I miss her. So glad we have FaceTime..

I answer on the post. It is convenient and others can see my response which sometimes brings on more conversation.

Hi Sandie - love Andy's look ... and I guess he needs to present himself smartly on day one. Good luck to him

I like this one - where I can move the comment box around if I want to refer back to the post ... and one gets to know if people answer the comments ... I always do on the post itself ... and don't go personal - just adds way too much time into blogging. If something relevant is asked - then I'll go direct and clarify ... and leave a note on the blog ...

Cheers Hilary

I am a rare female that likes long hair on men. I love his hair like it is.. he is one handsome yohttps://snapperone.blogspot.com/search/label/Pineapple%20home%20grownung man. I use the pop up comment, I like it best because when I go to a blog, like right now on yours, I can scroll back up if I forget what I wanted to say. my least favorite is embedded. hate that one and a lot of people use it. on the reply one, I never go back. so never see the reply. I reply from my email like you do.. that is if they have email listed. i have a hard time visitng all the blogs and it makes no sense to have to go back to see it again... i think there is a way to get the replies emailed, but it is all of them. not sure though. we all like what we like, so do what every YOU like

Omigosh, I thought pineapples grew on trees too. I've learned something already today!
Congrats and best wishes to Andy's first year of college! Exciting times.
I use pop-up comments on my blog and also reply to comments in the comment box. I have emailed blog friends when I wanted a more private conversation, and I've had blog friends private email me also.

I love getting comments and wish I did reply more to them. I like your personal touch but have never done that. I hate that I can no longer comment on all the blogs I used to due to some kind of change in google a couple months ago. Thankfully I can comment and yours and love to keep in touch. BTW I do think pineapple grows on trees. Ha !

I'm terrible about replying to comments. I admire you and Debby because you both do and do it so faithfully. I will occasionally email back if someone asks a question. Grandson looks ready and eager to start college! Hoping he has much success with it! I hadn't really thought how pineapples grow so I learned something new today!

Priceless kindergarten and college photos!!! To visit blogs, I use the blog list of my followers list in the right column. I just go all the way down, it shows me who has posted and when. It is so easy, and a snap! If it should go down for some reason, I go to Blogger and use the reading list. As fr answers, I rarely answer a question on a person's blog, because they could be done looking at it for the day. I like to use their e-mail. Or if I don't have their address, wait till the next time they post and answer in my comment.

I agree with what Sandra said...like the pop up comment space so I can go back to refresh my memory and to be able to read others comments too.
I miss so many comments if they answer in a reply...its gone for good or for a very long time.
Love the "what" cartoon too.

Interesting stuff, not the least of which are those silly pineapples! :)
I agree with Sandra (Mad Snapper) about Andy's hair. He's so handsome!

As you know, I do the embedded comments - I think this began 'early on' by watching others. Oftentimes, I'd see others' conversations and become interested to visit their blogs. Almost like an old-fashioned coffee klatch. Hey, it's all good. Whatever works!

I am pretty sure this is the commenting I use. Its been a difficult August for us but I am really trying to get caught up. I love blogging and the friends I know here too. :-) OH my gosh, your grandson! When did that happen? I say this constantly. Time moves so swiftly. Nick has been out two years. I asked him recently would he go back and he said no, I am content now. He has a job interview Thursday so prayers appreciated. I think it would be the perfect place for him. :-) I just love blogging so I will continue whether one person or 100 visit me. I keep it as a journal of our lives so the kids will never forget. HUGS and LOVE to you today and always and Best wishes for andy as he ventures into college.

They grow up so fast don't they. One minute they are kids and next next minute they are in college. Good for him.

I use WordPress comments. If you had a WordPress blog you'll know I commented on your blog or mine. I love WordPress.

Have a fabulous day and week, Sandie. ♥

I have the pop-up comments, just like you do. When someone asks a question, I don't reply on the comments. Some people do that, and I don't understand it, cause how many people really go back to their post and get the answer? I usually go to their blog and answer them, or I e-mail them, like you do. I think it's so nice that you always e-mail me after. Yes, it's true what you said. When we get back to our blog friends, we do develop more of a friendship with them.

I loved the quote "when a woman says what?" Oh my gosh, I thought pineapples grew on trees too haha. Your grandson is so cute in his back pack all ready for kindergarten. And look at him on his first day of college. Nel is teaching college English classes twice a week.

Disco, get ready cause Fall is coming! : )

I am SO BAD about answering comments or acknowledging them. I do read them all and if there is a question, I will answer it. I don't do moderating and comments are just left on the blog page. I enjoyed your graphics and photos!! Thanks to the giggles!

BECKY said...

Hi Chatty/Sandie! I reply right on the comment section. It's so much easier and quicker that way...and still sometimes I don't do very well. As you know, I'm getting back into blogging and some days I'm just too lazy for much of anything. (I'm learning to refer to it as "getting older." Yikes! Big hugs to you!

Handsome young man, your grandson.
I did know pineapple grew that way, we even tried to grow one using the top. But we got distracted and lacked the patience to wait for a pineapple to grow.
I like the bus cartoon. My son, the eldest one is a bit of a pessimist and we are always trying to show him how to look at the brighter side of things.
I use the blogger comments like you.. if an email is available I do like to reply back to comments sometimes. But if you reply back to a comment on the blog they do not get a notification.. they must come back to your post and see if you have responded.. I doubt anyone ever does that.
I hope that helps.

Oh your grandson is really growing up fast! About comments, I don't usually answer comments on my post, unless someone directly responds to me, and then I will repsond back. I have a few bloggers whom I have been following for a long time...(you are one of them) that I really love to visit and read their posts. Sort of like dropping by for a cup of coffee and a chat. :)

Andy has grown up to be a handsome young man. You must be so proud! As for comment form, I have no idea which one I use. People can just write a comment and then push "PUBLISH." It comes out at the bottom of my blog posts. I answer when time permits. Those veggie hacks were quite fascinating, Sandie.

My comments are the same way you do yours, I reply via a comment on the post

Hi Sandie!!! Your grandson did grow fast. So did our Granddaughter who was six when the kids got married. She, KP, graduated from college this May. Her little sister,KP, is ten now
You should be glad your grandson didn't decide to not get a haircut and go long instead.
Like the Hippie post too, some states are a haven for those old ones who didn't change. Co and Vt seem like they have the most per capital.
I only allow Blogger and Google sign ins. After 10 or 14 days I have to look at them, moderate, first. A few times I will leave a comment myself but not often. I do visit their blog though, and if they are new I thank them for peeking in and leaving a comment over on mine.

I hope he has a great year! I've never giving any thought to the pineapples, I love how they grow. Cute picture of Disco.

I actually wanted to write a post about comments. First of all I like the pop up comment box that you use. I use it too. I am getting very frustrated with people who comment but they are a no-reply. What's the point. I never ever go back to a blog to see if someone answered me. Who has time for that. I get my comments in my emails. I respond to the people I can respond too.

Hi Sandie, Andy was just a little boy when we all started blogging! Now off to college!
Ive just recentky started blogging after a long long break, i havent had a lot of visitors so not needed to answer anyone back yet really. I like the idea of an email reply so i shall try that!

How can he be off to college already? My gson did start kindergarten already though. I use comments like you do, try to answer some but not all? I never look back at replies on other blogs.....I do not like the verify anymore cause it’s too difficult like a test 🤭. Didn’t know pineapples grew that way either

In answer to your question on my blog about the pigs. I live in a rural area on 10 acres. Cows and pigs all around plus I used to have goats and chickens.

I use the form where I can reply right under their comments. I have been told that most people who comment never go back and look to see if there is a reply, so I don't know why I continue to do it. After all, I don't go back to see if there are replies to any of my comments on others' blogs!!!!! I need to rethink this...thank you for getting me motivated. Maybe I need to start replying via email. I guess I just thought that people would not one more email in their inbox. I really hope you will do another post on your findings and what you have decided to do. Although I've written on my blog on and off for years, I am still in need of BLOGGING FOR DUMMIES!!!! Now I'm off to enjoy catching up on your blog. Maybe you can visit me sometimes at cherischatter.blogspot.com.

I write my comment, my response (such as this) in the spot I'm told to write it!

The area around where I grew up there were many pineapple farms...so I was never under the impression they grew on trees. I learned, also, that money doesn't grow on trees! :)

My comments are the same way you do yours. I reply Via a comment on the post. I love the way you handle your blog comments. This way you enjoy having so many friends Via Email, just like we do.
Your grandson looks great with long hair, yet it's his preference how he likes his hair style in one way or another, shorter or longer.
I always love to see Disco. I never knew how to plant pineapples. It's a great idea, and one day, God's willing, I'll plant things in my own home garden. I would love to own a horse farm, and it'll be a real blessing from God to me. I'll see what happens in my life. It's true the fact it's the way we look at the world with a positive mind or a negative one. You are a remarkable thinker. I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!
When I see you replying to my comment on your post, you really bright up my day with your Emails. You are one of my best Online friends. I hope to meet you one day in person, if that is God's will. About parenthood, I was a better mom than a grandmom. My 3 grandchildren live in New York, and I live Overseas. So I hardly know them. I saw them when they were born, but I was unable to see them growing up, since I live abroad. I look at the pictures my daughter sends to me. I haven't seen my 2 older grandchildren for 10 years. I saw my daughter and her youngest girl back in April 2019, for she came over to celebrate her 40th birthday with us. My little grand is 10. I saw her last time 10 years ago when she was born. I haven't been in the States since 2009. Sadly, I miss those days back in time. I guess God wanted me to live this kind of life, and that was His plan in my life. God is in control, not me. God bless you, beautiful lady!
Hope, Peace & Love,
Poet Starry.

It does happen in the blink of an eye! He looks handsome in both pictures. :) I thought pineapples grew in trees too, lolol!!! They seem to heavy for a plant to support. Ya' learn something new every day!

I love that you e-mail. That's how I knew you were so amazing outside of the blog. :)

I have comment moderation so spam doesn't run away with my blog. I reply every now and then, especially if there is a question. I do talk to a few bloggers via e-mail once in awhile too, I'd say maybe 6 or 7, yourself included. :)

Are you hunkered down and ready for the just-in-case with the weather?

Oh I just read this post again and want to leave another comment on your comment question.
When someone comments on my blog post, I get an email. I can reply right back to them from that (email to email).
However, If they are a "noreply" blogger, they will never get the email so I will go back to the comments on the post and reply there.
IF your a noreply blogger, its an easy fix and everyone should do it. You just have to add your email to your blogger profile.

I'm still getting my head around the fact my younger daughter has a daughter who is now 2 and a half and starting school. What? Where did those years go, and how did I get old so fast!

I comment occasionally to some people on my blog but just haven't had the time to reply to them all. I know I should.
