Tell me a funny joke!

OKAY - (Dumb) Joke Time:

When I was younger - my mom had a couple jokes that she told everyone.  Multiple times.  I'd roll my eyes teasing her -I wish she was here to tell them again.

Answers at the bottom of my post.

1.  How is the capitol of Kentucky pronounced?   'Louie' ville or 'Louis' ville?

2.  What does a duck do when it flies upside down.

Courtesy of daughter:

3.  Why does the cookie go to the doctor?

4.  Why does the chicken cross the road?

Mine:

5.  What is black and white and read/red all over?

Do you have a silly joke for me?

Disco's corner:
We are both waiting for mom to do her errands - while we wait in the car.

He looks bored, but he is warm.

 BLOG QUESTION:
Years ago - when someone joined your blog on the google widget on the right side of your blog - you would click on the box and it would take you to their website.
It would show you their website and the blogs they follow.  You could join their website right there.

However, unless I am crazy, and I could be - now when you go to the website it just brings you to the site of who they follow.
You cannot go to their site.
Does this make sense?

I am asking about this because I like to follow people who follow me and I can't do that because I can't find them.
I know I have followers I don't know.

Anyone know how to find out  the blog of someone who is following you?

BLOG COMMENTS:
I try to blog without obligation.
I try to answer when I can and I understand when you can't.
Hope the same goes for you.
I will as much as I can though!

I only post a couple times a month and if you leave a comment and I have your address I will write you back unless something weird happens - some times blogger does not send me a comment and I have no idea you have left a comment.

I love to communicate with my blogger friends.

JOKE (yes another one).

THIS IS ME!

Something to think about:

If you haven't seen the movie you should go see it.
What a kind man he was and so good for the kids.

1.  Neither, the capital of Kentucky is Frankfort.
2.  It quacks up.
3.  He felt crummie.
4.  To get to the other side of course.
5.  A newspaper or a blushing zebra!

I'm fresh out of jokes, so I will try the blogger stuff. I'm not sure what you mean about the Google widget, but when people comment on my blog, I just click on their name and it takes me directly to their blog or their profile page. There are some who don't have blogs, though. I follow people by using the Blogger Reading List. I have to manually enter the name of the blog, but once I do, I see new posts automatically in the reading list.

Comments are complicated. I don't use the email address I have for blogger, so I only check it a few times a month. So, I see comments you send a lot later. However, I know it's a nuisance to have to go back to someone's post to see if they replied to your comment. Some bloggers wait to reply until they post again, so I know not to check for a reply until then.

I am straining the brain to think of a joke and can't right now. but there is a joke on Big's blog today. when you click on the widget if they have a blog it shows, if it doesn not they don't have one OR they have chosen to not let it show. there are people who create a profile so they can comment but don't have a blog or share if they do.. that is the answer. Disco looks adorable waiting.

Love the jokes. I miss my mom too.

Have a fabulous day and week, Sandie. Big hug. ♥

Those were cute jokes! Enjoyed the morning chuckles! Disco does look warm! Does he mind clothes on him? Koda never liked wearing anything. Not sure about the blogger question you have. Its been awhile since I've checked out new blogs; hopefully someone else can help with that! Have a great week ahead!

Good Monday Morning to you!!
Louis Dean and I are reading two books right now.....one on Southern Humor and the other on Texas Wit and Wisdom. Both have jokes but, honestly, sometimes we don't 'get it!'

Thanks for the smiles. I no longer get notification of any comments, I wish I had a way. I remember I had to get a G-mail address to get/stay on Blogger and now it is associated with my blog and I do not know how to change it. I don't even know how to get to G-mail anymore. LOL
I know the feeling of not knowing if a comment is added later. I go back about 10 blogs to see if the # of comments has changed and then check.
We do enjoy the visit to your house when you post!

I knew the first one for sure! I am a geography gal, so I knew the answer was Frankfort!

Yes, I know what you mean about clicking on the person's image from the Blogger widget on the sidebar. It only takes you to blogs they follow. However, for people who leave a comment, when I click on their name, I get to their Blogger profile and, thus, to their blog (if they have one).

For me, blogging is about relationships, so I want to interact with those who leave comments. I try to respond via email, but I'm not always receiving the email of their comment, so I sometimes have to respond directly to their comment at my blog. I don't like doing it that way though. I know that many bloggers respond to comments that way, but I NEVER return to blog posts to look for a response, so the truth is, I never see their response.

Have a great day,
Patti

Hi Sandie - no jokes I'm afraid ... I'm dubious of the bloggers without sites - and have deleted their profiles ... can't exactly remember how now ... prefer to keep everything upfront and known. No point in following if no connection and perhaps dangerous ... Disco looks comfortable and 'waiting' patiently - cheers Hilary

I'm no good at jokes...if I remember them at all, I forget the punch line! What good is a joke without the punch line??
I'm sorry I don't have an answer for your Blogger question.
I have entered peoples links on my sidebar. That's how I go to their blog and make comments.
I'm not Tech savy at all.
Always love coming here to see what's going on in your life.
Have a great day.

Re. the widget and comments? Thank goodness there are smarter folks than me -- I'm enjoying everyone's answers. There's a couple folks who comment, but it doesn't translate to my e-mail (gmail). Instead, I just go to my "Posts" page and see if the number of responses has changed.

Got me on that Joke #1. Hanging my head, but chuckling all the same.

I found that out earlier today, miss going to their blog!

Clean jokes!! We just call them "groaners" or "Jimmy Jokes" after our nephew who tells awful jokes! That was fun!! Love you, Sandie!

Joke #1 cracked me up!! I laughed far more than I perhaps should have. Thank you for the giggles and snorts.

I don’t have any jokes but I do have a funny line from one of the funniest comedians ever, Groucho Marx. “ Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana. I know it is old, but so am I.

Yes, I am also disappointed when I can’t reciprocate when someone new writes a comment on my blog. I don’t know why that is the case on some blogs.

Ha, I had a feeling joke #1 was a trick!
Omigosh, Disco has a jacket!
Fred Rogers sure knew a lot about life. This quote is so true. I sometimes find myself talking to someone around my age that never had children, and it's like we live on two different planets.
Now for the corny jokes:
What do you call a bear with no teeth? A gummy bear
How did Darth Vader know what Luke got him for Christmas? He felt his presents
Why do you never see elephants hiding in trees? Because they're so good at it

lol.. cute jokes.. you really had me thinking the capital of Kentucky was Louisville.

Knitty said...

I thought the answer to the capital of Kentucky was going to be "K". LOL!

I have fallen by the wayside as a blogger and realize I miss that. I'm not looking to gain a huge audience but there aren't as many blogs like this one anymore (Bless you for keeping yours as is).

Blogger and Facebook have changed things that I don't know how to fix (meaning return to how I liked them!) either. Some sites are so geared to mobile devices, those of us who still work on PCs seem to be forgotten. I have both but start my mornings on the PC. Sometimes on a mobile app you have the option of choosing "view as website" (probably not the exact wording) but finding things doesn't follow the same path.

I haven't made any changes to my FB settings but I don't get new event notices now, not on mobile or my PC. I had 3 events that I wasn't expecting and therefore didn't go looking for them. I should google that to see how to make new events appear again...when I have a spare hour.

Two jokes for you:

1. Why do never see elephants hiding in trees?

2. What do you call bears with no ears?

Answers:

1. Because they're really good at it.
2. B (The word "bears" minus "ears" leaves B)

A little collection of jokes from my childhood:

1) How can you tell if an elephants been in the fridge?
2) Do you know the joke about the three eggs?
3) What’s black and white and goes bump bump bump?
4) How does an elephant get down from a tree?
5) Have you heard about the man who fell out of a train?

Responses:
1) By the footprints in the butter.
2) Too bad.
3) A nun falling down stairs.
4) Sits on a leaf and waits until autumn.
5) Hard lines. (This might not work in the US as I believe you say tracks).

With your question re blogs – I find it annoying too that I am not directed to the blog of new followers – I don’t see the sense in it either.

Nice to come across your blog. I’ll be back!

My favourite joke is "I had to get rid of the vacuum cleaner. All it was doing was collecting dust".

Yes it's hard to track the followers own website. It's fine if they comment because you can then click on their profile but if they don't comment all you have is a list of the blogs they follow.

Oh my gosh, Sandie, that is so frustrating, and I know exactly what you mean. When someone follows me, it's so hard to follow back now unless they leave a comment. So if I can't find their blog, I just thank them in my comments, and that's sometimes all I can do. That lady cracking up is the funniest picture. I think my family needs that right now, so I'll send it to them. Disco is too cute in his red plaid. Oh, I've been wanting to see the Fred Rogers movie. Doesn't Tom Hanks play him? He is the best person to play him, right? And that last red rose after your name got to me. Thanks!

I liked the jokes...and the one left in your comments about Napoleon armies. As for followers, click on the comment name and it should take you to their profile. And if they follow you, your blog should be listed in "blogs I follow". But, then again, some bloggers choose not to show that under THEIR preferences.

Sandy, some people are funny without telling a joke, I am almost that way. For my classes when I started to tell a joke they laughed, (1) because I hardly ever told them jokes, and (2) because I invariably I would have forgotten a vital element of the joke.
My dad would tell the only joke I have heard him tell,
There were three bears who lived in the woods;
Papa ate some beans...
(Mom would stop him there, looking a bit disgusted.) I never ever heard more than that, there may not have been any more.
I've learned how to roll my eyes, either way, clockwise or counterclockwise. It's not real heard to learn.
I don't know much about following, except to push a button someplace.
You are right about stuff kids are taught now. Lauren just has a knack and a like for map reading. I would like to teach her to type, maybe this summer. I haven't told her that I taught typing for a year while I was in the Army.

Fun post!
I don't blog to often anymore either but I really dislike having several no-reply followers because I would like to be able to communicate with them. Also the people whose replies are on their blog. Who goes back to read those?
