COVID - ARE YOU GETTING TIRED OF IT? IS THERE AN END IN SITE? HOW HAS IT CHANGED AMERICA?

I AM SO TIRED OF COVID.

DOES EVERYONE FEEL THE SAME WAY?
I am beginning to feel like Henny Penny and the sky is falling.

This feels like it has been going on forever - with no end in sight.
This might be a negative post, but I need to vent.

This is in Tribute to Joan Fetting - my friend, my sister who I lost to Covid over a year ago. It's almost her birthday. I miss her so much.  You would call her, and she was always ready to go.  She was a free spirit like me.  We could tell each other anything and knew it would not go any farther.  She was close like a sister.

I've been reading the news about China and Covid.  I've read that they have 250,000,000 people infected with a super Covid bug - 1/4 of their population.  They have tried to keep the people in the country, and high political figures have even gotten Covid, and they can't contain it!

They are now allowing people to leave the country, and some are people are coming here.
So far, the US said they have to be Covid tested before they come - but what if they are carrying it and don't show symptoms yet?

Are we going to have another Covid round?

Who created this disease?

Was it one person or many?

Why did they create it?

Was it a group?

What was the purpose?

There are things I want to know.  It kind of drives me nuts.

Why or what purpose was this done for?

LET'S MAKE A LIST OF WHAT HAS CHANGED SINCE COVID:

ALMOST EVERYONE HAS HAD A COVID VACCINE

PEOPLE ARE STILL GETTING COVID WITH THE VACCINE

ALMOST EVERYONE HAS WORN A MASK

I BELIEVE KIDS MISSED A YEAR OF SCHOOL.

I STILL CAN'T SIT IN MY DOCTORS OFFICE I HAVE TO STAY IN THE CAR UNTIL I AM CALLED IN WITH A MASK

RESTAURANTS HAVE FAILED

WHERE ARE THE WORKERS?

BUSINESSES HAVE CLOSED

I HAVE FRIENDS THAT HAVEN'T LEFT THEIR HOUSE EXCEPT FOR BASIC NEEDS

CHURCH ATTENDANCE IS DOWN

LIBRARIES CLOSED

SOCIAL DISTANCING

IF ANYONE COUGHS THERE IS CONCERN THAT THEY HAVE COVID

THE WAY WE GET GROCERIES IS DIFFERENT

WE RAN OUT OF SUPPLIES OF VARIOUS THINGS

I LOST MY BROTHER-IN-LAW TO COVID.

I LOST MY VERY BEST FRIEND TO COVID.

SORRY THAT THIS IS SUCH A DOWNER, BUT I AM SO FRUSTRATED WITH COVID I HAD TO VENT!

 WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

Covid is not going away. But I believe we are more open than you are, I guess. We sit in the Dr's office but with a mask on. We shop for groceries the same old way. My daughter's sweet friend died of it at 37 and left a 10-year-old behind. It makes my heart ache every time I think of it. Politicians took covid and divided this country. I do not see it as political and refuse to join in. At this point vaccinate if you want or don't if you don't. But leave each other alone on what choice they make. It truly is no one's business. We are not asked if we are vaccinated anymore to move around in planes or trains
or to attend anything. Where did it come from who really knows but I am guessing in a lab somewhere. Same as the flu epidemic all those years ago where did that come from? Will there be more I am guessing yes. I know I am tired of it but so is everyone else. so no real wisdom here just my thoughts.

China, I understand, doesn't have a decent vaccine and doesn't want help from the US. I doubt COVID will ever go away, it will just continue to mutate and, hopefully, get weaker as our immunity adapts. I had COVID last summer. Not too bad, but I think I still have some lingering effects.

"Going about our business" has improved where I live. Only medical facilities require masks, and we don't have to wait in our cars. Curbside pickup options remain for shoppers, but stores and other businesses are otherwise as before - no noticeable social distancing.

I mainly notice the ripple effects - kids who essentially lost two years of schooling are REALLY behind, certain job sectors can't find enough workers, supply chain issues make for long waits on backorders, etc.

Sorry about Joan and your brother-in-law. I also lost two friends to COVID ❤️

Oh I wish Covid were going away but like all other diseases it is here to stay. We have reverted back to normal on most things but we do still wear a mask especially in indoor crowded places. The kids have stopped wearing them though.
Thankfully we did not lose anyone to Covid. But I am sorry to hear of your losses.. it must be awful to go through that.

Loved the graphics, good picks. I figure someone created the virus, but I do not know. I donot adhere nor believe all the conspiracy theories. I think whats his name in DC who does the advising has been unduely blamed. I dispise that it became political. I got the shots, Sherry did not. I have had the shot and got the virus, Sherry did not. I now have had a booster. I think if a person wants the shot they should get it. If they don't, that is fine but I wish folks would quit spreading WILD conspiracy theories.
Good post.
Yes it has changed our lives some, we do eat out less now, and I think more folks are using carry outs or drive thrus to get commercial foods.
Love from a cool Florida,

I am sorry for your losses.
I lost my biological father, and a brother-in-law to Covid.
I don't think it will ever go away completely, we can hope that it weakens, and stops mutating.
My state has never taken Covid seriously. In the beginning they made a bare minimum effort, but that quickly stopped.
I've had it twice, reasonably mild both times, but now I have Long Covid.
My personal opinion is that it was created in a lab for biological warfare that somehow got loose or was created to lessen China's growing population, as in the beginning it did target mostly the elderly and sick.

My thoughts? I am three times vaccinated. We are also sick every other week or so. We get better with this sinus/cold stuff and then we get it again. I honestly think it is coming from the border people. Politically correct or not, they are not vaccinated against anything for generations. They are bringing in new strains of different viruses our country has never seen. Every time we have a big gathering, several get sick the following week. We stay home, just tired of being sick all of the time. I feel this is going to be ongoing from now on.

I have a weird theory. Have you noticed the odd shortages of things, some medicines and magnesium, baby formula (some ingredients are sourced from China), etc? My theory, China has lost many more people than they are saying. That has caused manufacturing shortages. The Wuhan Institute of Virology was studying this virus, but why? Those are my thoughts.

I am so sorry about Joan! I believe that according to the bible, things will be getting worse and worse in the world. We are still scared of Covid. Whenever we go anywhere, we wear disposable gloves and masks. I joke that we are donning the armour of God. Most people that we know have gotten Covid. We only go to church on Zoom now because church members are not wearing masks anymore, and many are getting Covid. We have not eaten out, including drive-thrus, for three years, and we don't have people over anymore. I am just glad we are alright so far.

I still wear my mask when going out. Don't care if I'm in the minority with that. It's the only thing that prevents transmission of flu and covid. and unlike vaccine, it's external doesn't interfere with your immunity; no speculations about it as to causing heart problems.

This is truly a hot, uncomfortable subject...I'm really not going to get into it except to say Each person must make their own decisions as to what's good for them and their families.Truthfully, I'm sick of it all...
Dave and I are back to living our lives just the way we were before the whole thing started. Church, restaurants, shopping, having friends in,
I don't look down on any that wear masks, social distance and stay isolated..it's just not for me.
Is it going to still be here? Yes just like all the variants of the flu and other diseases that mutate. We live in a fallen world and the bible says things will only get worse so live each day to the fullest.
I am so sorry you lost special people in your life to Covid. It is so sad. We have lost friends too. I'm just putting my trust in the Lord every day and will do that until He calls me home.

it is better now than it was in 2020, people are not dying by the millions. now it is like flu, RSV, and all the other things the vaccines made better, like polio. I am just happy they were able to slow it down. people are dying from car accidents and Gun Violence and cancer and diabetes kills millions. we had covid and had only 2 days of SICK, 2 days of less sick and 2 weeks of no energy. that is due to the vaccines we have taken and better than dying from it. I am sad our world has changed, but it is not covid that changed people and made them stop working. it comes from PEOPLE who do not want to drive trucks or do the work they did before, it turned our nation into slugs, that came from the humans not the virus. I am nervous about China moving around for sure

None of this makes sense with China letting their citizens travel now. Praying we do not get locked down again as it did hurt our small business. Janice

Vent on, Sandie! I remember the first year feeling terrorized to even step inside a grocery store. Nowadays I even 'forget' to put on a mask. How desensitized we've become. What's sad, this is our little one's 'normal.'

Covid will never go away. It is here just like the common cold and the flu. All we can do is live day by day and trust God. I'm sorry for your loss. I had one of those too.

I understand your thoughts and feelings, Sandie, and sometimes we just need to vent. Sending you a comforting hug, as you lost your best friend and brother-in-law to this. I'm so sorry.

I don't think it is ever going away and I think we'lll be getting new shots every year for it just like we do for the flu shot. The variants of the disease seem to be growing and that's why some get it when vaccinated. I wear my mask when going out event though I've had the booster shots, but I don't see many doing it. I'm a big believer in washing your hands and hand sanitizer too. We are going to have to learn how to live with it or we're going to die. We can only hope they come up with a plan for us to do that. Sooner rather than later.

First of all I am sorry for the loss of your friend Joan over a year ago. ((HUGS)) Yes I am tired of Covid and what it has done to our country. It was all set up to make Trump look bad so he wouldn't win the election. Actually prior to the Covid outbreak Fauci said "Mark my words, we will have a pandemic in 3 years!" Yes it came from China and the one person who first put the word out from the lab in China was put in prison and then they killed him. I'm afraid this will never stop along with all the people who are committing crimes and never go to jail. Our country is in a very bad place and it scares the crap out of me!

I still wear a mask when I am out and about (the grocery store, pharmacy, etc.) but I notice that sometimes there are very few who are masked. And yet, Covid is still around. I have been vaccinated but still, I think it is for the best to still wear a mask. Also, I find it sad that many who have died this past year, that for the two years before this, they were not really able to do things because of Covid. That is also not fair!

Covid is here, it will not be going away, we just have to get on with things the best we can and adapt as necessary.
Many of my family (and friends) have had Covid, but thankfully we did not lose anyone to it. I was very sorry to read about your losses.

Sending my good wishes.

All the best Jan

I'm sorry for your loss because of Covid. Our world has gone bonkers.
A great evil of darkness has descended upon the earth and nothing is as it was. Only divine interference will be able to help us.

Prayers for our world.
