About the eggs in the windshield, it makes common sense, now that you mentioned it. It would have been the first thing I would have done, to turn the windshield washers on.
Children grow so fast and they leave the nest to make one of their own. Good luck to your grandson and his lovely fiancee.

I love those Irish blessings. They are really special when I hear them. And I love the color GREEN for St. Patrick's Day. aaahhh, look at your grandson when he was a little boy. That's such a sweet picture, Sandie. And that Maxine quote is a hoot, always love her quotes. My favorite is the simple rule in life. If only we all did this, right? I didn't know you were part Irish. It's such a wonderful heritage.

I'm second generation Irish on my paternal side (I never got to know my father and grandparents, though...long story). My paternal grandparents came to Queensland from the town of Armagh, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. They settled in the central Queensland town of Rockhampton, where my father and his siblings were born...and where my now late brother, Graham and I were born.
My maternal side came from the Scottish Highlands...Highlanders, through and through. However, my great-grandmother (maternal) was Irish...she married a Highlander.
I no longer drive at night. Once upon a time I did...long trips often, too...but those days/nights are long gone.

Happy Monday, Sandie! I enjoyed your post! I used to think I was mostly Irish with a maiden name Kelly. My DNA test says I am only 2% Irish! Hardly more than a drop or two! Who knew! I am 52% Scottish. Go figure. I will celebrate anyway! Love & hugs!
