DO YOU HEAR THE MUSIC?

How about this for a walk?

“Music enters our bodies, commandeering the pulse in our veins, and reminds us that pleasure isn't a matter of feeling good but of feeling more alive."

 The Song Remembers When

By Trisha Yearwood

When we are young maybe our parents sung us lullabies.

When we are teens we have our own music - mine was the Beatles, Herman Hermits, The Monkees.

When we moved from Atlanta back to Chicago, I was dating someone and thought I'd die moving away. I lived.  LOL

Listen to the Rythm of the Falling Rain.

First years of college were the songs from the Viet Nam times.  I still go back in time when I hear them.

Wedding Song - We've Only Just Begun by the Carpenter's

Raising the children I don't have one I recall - but as the kids got older - they had plenty!

Fifty-year anniversary - The Story of My Life - by Neil Diamond.

A couple of weeks ago we went to a funeral, and this was played - I hope someday my kids can play that at my funeral.

SHE LOVED

Your question of the day is - do you have a song that when you hear it brings back memories?

This was fun, and so true!
There are songs from the 70's that bring me right back to being young and working picking blueberries. They played music loud in the field so we could here it. The other day I heard the song "alone again, naturally" and I was back there.
There are old hymns that bring me back to the little church we went to when I was a kid. When I hear a Veggie Tale song, I'm back to those times when my kids were young. Fun memories!

That would be a pretty walk to do. That's an interesting song. I am sure I have several songs that bring back memories when I hear them. Just can't think of one at this time. LOL

This is a lovely song, I have never heard it before. Wow, I have more than one song, because I loved and love music so much. The Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel for sure. And The Bee Gees. I like your little music notes at the bottom, how do you do that? And the Vegan witches, so funny!

Oh boy, I can relate to all of this. Do you know, I saw that meme (about music evoking memories) on FB this morning and almost shared it. Even one or two notes and I'm immediately transported back. That's the best sort of time travel, isn't it?
I loved this post.

I have a favorite band from the 70's. Led Zeppelin. It was mine and my first fiance's band we loved. He was killed in a car accident before we got married, but every time I hear one of their songs it reminds me of him still. Love the Vegan witches. Too cute! Janice

Lots of fun on your post today!! First of all....I had to go and listen to the song by Jeff and Sheri Easter. Absolutely Beautiful and so touching. One song that comes to my mind was when my BFF cousin and I were about 8 years old. We would ride in the back of her dad's Dump truck (at the Farm) and we would sing to the top of our lungs...."Soldier Boy!" Lol. I love music and I truly love Southern Gospel. So many favorites that take me wayyyy back.

Oh, music does add something special to our lives. Like you, I love some of the Beatles songs. The music quote is so true, huh? I'll have to look for Primal Kitchen dressing at the store. A healthy salad dressing is always good. That house in the woods with the old wooden walkway is charming.

Well, to answer your question.....my favorite song of all is "What a Wonderful World". It has special meaning to me. But the song, "Dreams" by Stevie Nicks always brings back fond memories. And do you remember the song "Dancing in the Moonlight." You can't help but feel happy when you listen to it. : )

A delightful post today, Sandie.

Well, pass the tissues on the song She Loved..so beautiful. I would hope and pray that my family would say the same about me. Sigh
Love this post Sandie.
Many songs bring back feelings. Anything by Elvis.
Good old gospel music...Always sang in the church choir and in special small groups, as did my Hubby too.
Love Big Band music and "Band music" from my 4 years of high school band. I learned to appreciate all types of music through it, from marches to classical.
Adore the old musicals..Sound of Music, West side Story, Music Man to name a few.
After I read Mari's comment on the Veggie Tales... now I have "Oh Where is my Hairbrush?" stuck in my brain..too funny.

I'm right there with you on those songs, especially the Vietnam era music. Which song drop kicks me into the past? LOUIE LOUIE. I'm right back in senior year of high school.
