Happy Halloween - okay we'll pretend it's Halloween - humor me will you?

And this is for every one - especially for Kim. Since you guys can't take Halloween cake and candy corm maybe you can handle where jelly beans come from . . .

Okay this might be the reason dogs might get a little mad at their people! lol Thanks Angela.

For a little Halloween fun, try Cat Bowling

When it points to where you want the ball to go,

Hit the space bar ... Have fun!

GOOD LUCK !!!!!! You will NEED it!!!

Thank you cousin!

A bald man with a wooden leg gets invited to a Halloween Party.
He doesn't know what costume to wear to hide his head and his
Leg, So he writes to a costume company to explain his problem.

A few days later he received a parcel with the following note:

Dear Sir,
Please find enclosed a pirate's outfit.. The spotted handkerchief will
cover your bald head and, with your wooden leg, you will be just right
as a pirate.

Very truly yours,
Acme Costume Co.

The man thinks this is terrible because they have emphasized his
Wooden Leg and so he writes a letter of complaint. A week goes by and he
Receives another parcel and a note, which says:

Dear Sir,
Please find enclosed a monk's costume.. The long robe will cover your
Wooden leg and, with your bald head, you should really look the part.

Very truly yours,
Acme Costume Co.

Now the man is really upset since they have gone from emphasizing his
Wooden leg to emphasizing his bald head, so again he writes the
Company another nasty letter of complaint..

The next day he gets a small Parcel and a note, which reads:

Dear Sir,
We have TRIED our very BEST
Please find enclosed a bottle of molasses and a bag of crushed nuts.
Pour the molasses over your bald head, pat on crushed nuts, stick your
Wooden Leg down and go as a caramel apple.

Very truly yours,
Acme Costume Co.
Thank you Sharon.
Thank you Marydon. Now this isn't bad - it's funny - so hang in there.

Thanks sis and Suzy.

A man is walking home alone late one foggy night.
when behind him he hears:

Bump
BUMP
BUMP

Walking faster, he looks back and through the fog he makes out the image of an upright casket banging its way down the middle of the street toward him.

BUMP
BUMP
BUMP

Terrified, the man begins to run toward his home, the casket bouncing quickly behind him

FASTER
FASTER

BUMP
BUMP
BUMP

He runs up to his door, fumbles with his keys, opens the door, rushes in, slams and locks the door behind him.
However, the casket crashes through his door, with the lid of the casket clapping

clappity-BUMP
clappity-BUMP
clappity-BUMP

on his heels, the terrified man runs.

Rushing upstairs to the bathroom, the man locks himself in. His heart is pounding; his head is reeling; his breath is coming in sobbing gasps.
With a loud CRASH the casket breaks down the door.
Bumping and clapping toward him.
The man screams and reaches for something, anything, but all he can find is a bottle of cough syrup!
Desperate, he throws the cough syrup at the casket and,

(hopefully you're ready for this!

The coffin stops.

Another reason dogs may not like their owners around Halloween - thanks Angela.

And where would I be without JERRY!

Fall Festivals, Trunk or Treat, and Chili Cook Off

October is a wonderful month. It's fall, it's full of colors, it's busy. it's Halloween, and it's fun.

This weekend was another busy one. So will next weekend then I think things will die down. Here we are heading to my grandson's Fall Festival at school. This is what we made the baskets for. Don't know how much ours went for yet but I hope they did good. Notice that we do have the seasons here in Georgia - they are just milder. It was about 6o degrees and the 'fall' has begun.

Again our fall and this was new this year at the fair - the bungee jump.

Andy and his best friend trying to get two bites of the donuts before they would 'win' them.

His Mohawk (and NO he doesn't have a real one - his hand is just long for Halloween so he could do this). And now it is green!

My guy climbing the rock wall in his school. He is so big - I remember when he first started and how little he was - didn't even know what a rock wall was!

Here is Trunk or Treat at our church. A lot of people decorate the back of their cars and park in the parking lot and give out candy for the kids.

Kind of nice for our church family. That is for the kids and for the adults they have a chili cook off!

Now here is a good birthday - Keith Urban. You gotta love this guy - or I do anyway. Yes he's had his troubles and I hope he stays clean. But I feel there is something so deep in in soul going on that we are not aware of and I think he is one of the best guitar players ever (lol).

Keith Lionel Urban was born in Whangarei, New Zealand, which makes him a New Zealander but later moved with his parents to Caboolture, Queensland, Australia. By age seven, Urban was already thinking about getting into the music business. He began learning the techniques at age six and began winning young singing contests by age eight (Practice makes perfect).

And did you know that in 1992, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he found work as a guitarist for Brooks & Dunn and can be seen backing Alan Jackson in his music video for "Mercury Blues". (He never gave up).

Fun Friday

This is the funniest video - please watch - it's not scary, but it is funny - a good way to start fun Friday.

A doctor in Duluth wanted to get off work and go hunting, so he approached his assistant. 'Ole, I am goin' huntin' tomorrow and don't want to close the clinic.

I want you to take care of the clinic and take care of all my patients.'

'Yes, sir!' answers Ole.

The doctor goes hunting and returns the following day and asks: 'So, Ole, how was your day?'

Ole told him that he took care of three patients. 'The first one had a headache so I gave him TYLENOL.'

'Bravo, Mate, and the second one?' asks the doctor.

'The second one had stomach burning and I gave him MAALOX, sir,' says Ole.

Bravo, bravo! You're good at this and what about the third one?' asks the doctor.

'Sir, I was sitting here and suddenly the door opens and a woman enters.
Like a flame, she undresses herself, taking off everything including her bra and her panties and lies down on the table and shouts: HELP ME - I haven't seen a man in over two years!!

'Tunderin' Lard Yeezus, Ole, what did you do?' asks the doctor.

'I put drops in her eyes.'

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH

Don't tell me your age; you'd probably lie anyway-but the Hershey Man will know!

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH This is pretty neat.

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read.Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..
If you haven't, add 1758.

6.. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS

Get R Done

Please check out ExpresslyCorgi for her weekly Get R Done Blog. Check out what she got done and visit what others "Got Done' this week.

Okay, my dirty 26 year old carpet - another Get R Done project - but we are at the point of needing a new carpet . . . no my carpet isn't orange it's beige - but my camera makes it look that way. The point here is that it is empty of stuff (lol).

I started to gathering things to make baskets for the PTA at my grandson's school to be bid on for the silent auction. I asked for parent help and then I ran all over town asking for donations. 3:13 Hair Salon and Boutique gave me 3 $50 gift certificates! Curves gave me one for $138!

Okay rounded up my daughter and my friend Lynne after the book fair and we made 5 baskets.
My house looked like a blur with 150 books and all the basket items and wrapping paper - but we had so much fun.

Here is the final project -

Took them into school this week and they said Mrs. Boney's 3rd grade class rocks - okay I do get a little competitive at times . . . but I love doing it.

So that project is done and the bidding is this Saturday. I may bid on one or two of my own baskets.

Wild Geese by Mary Oliver

I heard a quote I love and it was taken from this poem. I've asked a couple people what they thought it meant - no replies. I really wanted to know - it was the first four lines. There is something about it I love - where is that or what is that soft animal of your body?

I googled it and this is what I found:

What does this poem mean?

Wild Geese
by Mary Oliver

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.

Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.

Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker (From Yahoo Answers)

"Well, simply put, its about 1.love, 2.life, and 3. friendship. and how these are the pretty much the ONLY free thing in this world. When Mary Oliver says 'Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. Meanwhile the world goes on.'

Its talking about the magic friendship. When she says 'You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.' She is explaining that these gifts (love, life, & friends) come free. When she says 'You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.' She is talking about love and the freedom of love."

Is love the soft animal of your body and is there freedom in love?

Wouldn't it be wonderful to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves and let everything else go?

But help, that explanation doesn't quite do it for me - what do you think that means?

Love,

Chatty

Happy Birthday Kirk Cameron - Cameron says he was once an atheist, but around age 17 or 18, during the height of his career on Growing Pains, he developed a belief in God, and became a Christian. After converting to Christianity, he began to insist that story lines be stripped of anything he thought too adult or racy in Growing Pains.

Perks of reaching 50 or being over 60 and heading towards 70!

1.Kidnappers are not very interested in you.

2. In a hostage situation, you are likely to be released first.

3. No one expects you to run -- anywhere.

4. People call at 9 PM and ask, 'Did I wake you?'

5.People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.

6. There is nothing left to learn the hard way.

7.Things you buy now won't wear out.

8. You can eat supper at 4 PM.

9. You can live without sex but not your glasses.

10.You get into heated arguments about pension plans.

11. You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.

12. You quit trying to hold your stomach in no matter who walks into the room.

13.You sing along with elevator music.

14. Your eyes won't get much worse.

15. Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.

16. Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the national weather service.

17. Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either.

18. Your supply of brain cells is finally down to a manageable size.

19. You can't remember who sent you this list.

ONE MORE THING:

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill, and a laxative on the same night!

A couple lived near the ocean and used to walk the beach a lot. One summer they noticed a girl who was at the beach almost every day. She wasn't unusual, nor was the travel bag she carried, except for one thing; she would approach people who were sitting on the beach, glance around and then speak to them.

Generally, the people would respond negatively and she would wander off. But occasionally someone would nod and there would be a quick exchange of money and something that she carried in her bag.

The couple assumed that she was selling drugs and debated calling the cops, but since they didn't know
for sure, they decided to just continue watching her.

After a couple of weeks the wife said, 'Honey, have you ever noticed that she only goes up to people with boom boxes and other electronic devices?' He hadn't and said so.

Then she said, 'Tomorrow I want you to get a towel and our big radio and go lie out on the beach. Then we can find out what she's really doing.'

Well, the plan went off without a hitch and the wife was almost hopping up and down with anticipation when she saw the girl talk to her husband and then leave.. The man then walked up the beach and met his wife at the road.

'Well, is she selling drugs?' she asked excitedly. 'No, she's not,' he said, enjoying this probably more
than he should have.

'Well, what is it then? What does she do ?' his wife fairly shrieked.

The man grinned and said, 'She's a battery salesperson.'

'Batteries?' cried the wife.

'Yes!' he replied.
